Shuvanov Doubles Through Reixach

Level 8 : 500/1,000, 100 ante

On a {9-Hearts}{3-Clubs}{5-Diamonds} flop, Dmytro Shuvanov had 15,000 in front of him and a player had called. Sergi Reixach moved all in for 80,000, Shuvanov called all in for 38,100, and the third player folded.

Dmytro Shuvanov: {7-Hearts}{6-Clubs}
Sergi Reixach: {10-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}

Shuvanov needed to spike an eight or four to survive. The {A-Hearts} on the turn didn't help him but the {8-Hearts} on the river was what he needed. With the extra money involved, Shuvanov moved up to over 100,000.

O'Dwyer Doubles Through Stuer in Four-Bet Pot

Level 7 : 400/800, 100 ante
Steve O'Dwyer
Steve O'Dwyer

Steve O'Dwyer opened on the button and Julian Stuer three-bet in the small blind to 6,600. O'Dwyer came back with 13,000, and Stuer called. The flop came {8-Diamonds}{j-Spades}{4-Hearts}, and Stuer led out for 5,100. O'Dwyer called without much thought. On the {6-Diamonds} turn, Stuer checked and called 11,000. The German then checked the {5-Spades} and O'Dwyer wasted little time before pushing all in. It was 18,400, and Stuer called before his timer ran down.

O'Dwyer opened {a-Spades}{a-Clubs}, and Stuer mucked {q-Clubs}{j-Clubs}.

"Better to Be Lucky Than Good" for Billard

Level 7 : 400/800, 100 ante

A player in middle position bet 3,300 and got two callers on a board of {5-Clubs}{6-Clubs}{a-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}, and Francois Billard woke up with a big raise to 18,000 in the big blind. The bettor folded, a player on the button called, and the small blind mucked. On the {3-Clubs} river, Billard thought until he had a few seconds left and shoved all in. It was 31,200, and eventually, the player on the button called.

Billard opened {7-Clubs}{4-Spades} for a straight. His opponent had {7-Spades}{5-Diamonds}.

"I got lucky," he said. "Better lucky than good."

Watson Raise-folds

Level 7 : 400/800, 100 ante

On the turn, the board read {8-Clubs}{8-Spades}{4-Clubs}{3-Spades} and three players were active. After Alex Komaromi had checked, a player bet 2,000 into a pot of 10,500. Mike Watson made it 10,000 on the button, Komaromi time-bank shoved 29,300 from the small blind, and the third player folded.

Watson gave it some thought but folded before needing a time bank chip.
