Vogelsang Eliminates Kolonias

Level 2 : 600/1,200, 200 ante

Alexandros Kolonias has become the first player to exit the second Single-Day High Roller. With the pot already up to around 80,000, action was on Christoph Vogelsang.

The German announced all in for 81,900, which was effectively for Kolonias' remaining 67,200. The Greek went in the tank and with the shot clock in play, was forced to use his first time bank chip. Kolonias didn't need the rest, as he flicked in a calling chip during his extra thirty seconds.

"Full house," said Vogelsang, who showed {K-Clubs}{K-Hearts}. Kolonias mucked {Q-Clubs}{4-Clubs} and quickly headed out of the tournament area.

Small Pot For Zhou

Level 1 : 500/1,000, 100 ante

Quan Zhou raised to 2,500 from under the gun, Alexandros Kolonias called on the button, and Christoph Vogelsang defended his big blind. Zhou bet 3,800 on a {10-Clubs}{5-Spades}{3-Hearts} flop and only Vogelsang called. They checked it down on the {9-Spades} turn and {Q-Spades} river.

Vogelsang showed pocket sixes and Zhou tabled pocket eights to win the hand.

One For Pique

Level 1 : 500/1,000, 100 ante

With two photographers and a camera crew present at tableside to capture Gerard Pique, the FC Barcelona star played a hand against Jean-Noel Thorel. On an {A-Clubs}{10-Clubs}{7-Diamonds} flop, Pique bet 8,000 and Thorel called.

The turn brought the {J-Spades} and Pique bet 14,000, which Thorel called as well. Both players quickly checked the {K-Clubs} on the river.

Pique showed {J-Hearts}{J-Clubs} for a turned set of jacks and Thorel mucked.
