Yotsushika and Liang Eliminated

Level 7 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante

At the end of the previous level, both Kazuhiko Yotsushika and Yu Liang ran out of chips. The former was on his first bullet and may re-enter again in the next hour until the end of registration, while Liang doesn't have this option anymore on his second entry.

Liang moved all in for his last 39,500 from the cutoff and Mikita Badziakouski asked for a count, then called in the small blind.

Yu Liang: {4-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}
Mikita Badziakouski: {6-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}

The {Q-Spades}{Q-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds} flop was of no help, and Liang glanced at the board when the {9-Diamonds} appeared on the turn. Badziakouski quickly put a finger on his six for the better flush draw, and the {8-Diamonds} river sent Liang to the rail.

Peters Pressures Haxton

Level 6 : 1,500/3,000, 500 ante
David Peters
David Peters

Current chip leader David Peters is strengthening his position and applying the pressure at the moment, with Isaac Haxton the man under the hammer in this particular hand.

There is already over 55,000 in the pot when we arrive on the turn with the board reading {q-Spades}{q-Clubs}{j-Spades} {4-Clubs}. Haxton checked the action over to Peters who tightens the screws with a bet of 22,000.

Haxton thought it over and made the call, leaving himself around 83,500 behind and the {j-Hearts} came down on the river to double pair the board.

Haxton checked once more and Peters quickly announced ‘all-in’ to send Haxton deep into the tank. He burns through a time bank chip (Haxton now has two remaining) and chews through nearly the full 30-seconds of extra time before grudgingly folding leaving Peters to scoop the pot and further extend his lead.

Holz Gone, Salter Takes from Zisimopoulos

Level 6 : 1,500/3,000, 500 ante

After previously doubling through Fedor Holz, Timothy Adams then also took the remainder of Holz's stack and the German wunderkind won't be able to re-enter anymore after having fired two bullets.

Jack Salter is on the way up after scoring a middle-sized pot against Georgios Zisimopoulos. Salter raised to 7,500 in the hijack and Zisimopoulos three-bet to 18,000 in the cutoff, which Salter called. On the {K-Hearts}{5-Clubs}{2-Diamonds} flop, Salter check-called a continuation bet for 11,000 before the duo ended up checking through the {Q-Diamonds} turn and {4-Spades} river. Salter was first to show and flashed {K-Spades}{6-Spades}, which was good enough to win the pot.

More for Loeser

Level 6 : 1,500/3,000, 500 ante

After a raise by Manig Loeser in early position and a call by Rafael Moraes on the button, the flop fell {8-Hearts}{3-Diamonds}{2-Hearts} and Loeser continued for 11,000. Moraes opted for a raise to 35,000 and Loeser glanced over at the stack of his opponent before pushing forward his stack of T-5,000 chips. Moraes quickly got out of the way and dropped below starting stack.

Post-break Stacks

Level 6 : 1,500/3,000, 500 ante

Here's how a few of the notables in the field are stacking up.

Adams Doubles Through Holz

Level 6 : 1,500/3,000, 500 ante

In one of the first hands after coming back from the break, Dengfend Yu raised to 6,500 and Fedor Holz called on the button, as did Timothy Adams in the big blind. On the flop of {10-Diamonds}{8-Spades}{7-Spades}, the action checked to Holz and he bet 21,000. Adams moved all in for little more and Yu folded, Holz called.

Timothy Adams: {8-Hearts}{7-Hearts}
Fedor Holz: {Q-Clubs}{J-Spades}

The {4-Hearts} turn and {K-Clubs} river failed to improve Holz and Adams doubled through him for 36,000, leaving Holz short on less than 15 big blinds.

Break Time

Level 5 : 1,200/2,400, 400 ante

Our 58 remaining players are on a short 15-minute break. The gray 100 chips will be raced off during this time and play will resume shortly.

Kanit Doubles; Remains Short

Level 5 : 1,200/2,400, 400 ante

"How much do you have left?" Daniel Dvoress asked over to Mustapha Kanit when the action had folded to the Canadian in the small blind. Kanit replied with a "around 21,000" and Dvoress pushed all in, Kanit called.

Mustapha Kanit: {A-Hearts}{3-Clubs}
Daniel Dvoress: {10-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}

Both players spiked a straight draw on the {6-Spades}{5-Clubs}{4-Clubs} flop, but the {J-Spades} turn and {K-Clubs} river blanked to award the double for Kanit. His stack was counted for 21,100 and Dvoress joked "come on man, you said around 21,000 and now it is 21,100?" Both players laughed, and the level came to an end.
