Maksim Shuts shoved the first hand and got through with it before picking up another small pot against Fabian Geisel soon after. Then, Geisel raised to 10,000 on the button and Shuts shoved the small blind for 21,500. Shuo Li moved all in as well from the big blind for 27,000 and joked "I only saw one card." Geisel called to put two opponents at risk.
Maksim Shuts:
Shuo Li:
Fabian Geisel:
The board ran out and Shuts dodged the flush draw of Geisel to triple up, while Geisel won the small side pot to eliminate Li.
Over on table two, David Wang got his short stack in after a flop of and Sam Greenwood looked up the Aussie.
David Wang:
Sam Greenwood:
Greenwood's set of fives was ahead, as Wang had the over pair, gutshot and flush draw. However, the on the turn left him with just four outs to improve to a better full house. A blank on the river sent Wang to the rail.
Over on table one, Isaac Haxton raised the button and Ka Kwan Lau three-bet the small blind, Haxton called and the flop fell . The duo got it in with Haxton at risk of elimination, but the American pro had flopped a straight.
Isaac Haxton:
Ka Kwan Lau:
The on the turn was the perfect card for Lau, as he improved to a better straight, and the river didn't change the outcome of the hand anymore. Haxton was eliminated while Lau then tried to get Fabian Geisel off trips deuces and lost some of the acquired profit.
There are just nine players remaining and it was Martin Kozlov who eventually lost the fight with his short stack only minutes after David Wang departed and Daniel Geeng chipped up slightly.
Kozlov raised the pot for most of his stack and then got the last 7,500 in against Felipe Ramos out of the blinds on a flop. Kozlov had the and Ramos looked him up with . While the turn changed nothing, the on the river improved Ramos and Kozlov was gone.
Sam Greenwood raised to 10,000 on the button and Chun Yuan Wang three-bet to 39,000 from the small blind, which Greenwood called after brief consideration. On the flop of , Wang got his last 58,000 in and Greenwood called.
Chun Yuan Wang:
Sam Greenwood:
Both players were on a diamond flush draw, but Greenwood had also paired the board with his ten. On the turn, some outs were gone for Wang as he now needed the diamond to improve, but a blank on the river saw his hopes vanish and the Chinese was eliminated in 9th place.
Within two hands, the stack of Joseph Kushner was eventually reduced to zero after the player at risk on this action-paced final table had previously escaped from elimination more than a dozen times thus far.
Hand 1
Kushner raised to 35,000 and Ka Kwan Lau three-bet shoved for his last 97,000. Kushner eventually called and the cards were turned over.
Ka Kwan Lau:
Joseph Kushner:
The board came and Kushner was reduced to a few big blinds only.
Hand 2
Kushner then got those few chips in preflop and Lau reraised the pot to get everyone else out of the way.
Joseph Kushner:
Ka Kwan Lau:
After a board of , Kushner's two pair on the flop were counterfit on the turn and his flush draw also bricked to send the American to the rail two spots off the money.
A day that started very well has come to a frustrating end for Sam Greenwood, as the chip leader when play resumed has just been eliminated on the money bubble. It took two hands though, as he first doubled up only to bow out the very next hand.
Hand 1
From under the gun, Sam Greenwood raised the pot and Ka Kwan Lau three-bet out of the big blind. Greenwood called all in for his last 64,000 and the cards were turned over.
Sam Greenwood:
Ka Kwan Lau:
The board came and Greenwood rivered a straight to double.
Hand 2
A raising war with pot and repot ended with the shove of Lau from the small blind and the all in call from Greenwood in the big blind.
Sam Greenwood:
Ka Kwan Lau:
After a board of , Lau turned a straight and that let the incredibly long bubble play come to an end.
Out of the small blind, Hok Lee raised the pot and then called all in for what looked like 80,000 when Fabian Geisel reraised in the big blind.
Hok Lee:
Fabian Geisel:
Geisel was marginally ahead preflop, and that lead improved on the flop, as the German hit two pair. The on the turn gave Lee some hope with the flush draw and gutshot, but the river was a blank. Lee was eliminated in 6th place for HK$196,100 (~$25,240).
Fabian Geisel raised from the cutoff and Ka Kwan Lau defended the big blind to see a flop of . There were just 88,000 in the pot, but a raising war ended up with both players getting their stacks in and Geisel was the one at risk and showed the worse hand.
Fabian Geisel: for a set of sixes
Ka Kwan Lau: for a set of eights
The turn and river blanked and that sent Geisel to the rail in 5th place for HK$251,000 (~32,307).
Soon after doubling through Maksim Shuts, Daniel Geeng faced another button raise to 50,000 by the Belorussian and announced a pot-sized reraise. Shuts moved all in and Geeng laughed with a "no no no," then called for around 200,000.
Daniel Geeng:
Maksim Shuts:
"Oh my god, he is even blocking the queen," Geeng added before the flop came . "I am so dead," the American continued, but he picked up a glimpse of miracle with the turn, drawing to the last three in the deck for quads. However, a blank river completed the board and Geeng had to settle for 4th place and a payday of HK$321,000 (~$41,317).
The remaining three players, and especially short stack Felipe Ramos, have HK$419,000 locked up, which equals approximately $53,930.
