Davidi Kitai Eliminated

Level 17 : 3,000/6,000, 1,000 ante
Davidi Kitai
Davidi Kitai

Davidi Kitai started out the day as one of the shortest stack in the field, but did manage to survive the bubble. He nurtured the short stack for the longest time but just ran out of luck. The one eliminating him was his sole countryman still in: Jonathan Abdellatif.

Kitai shoved the cutoff for 36,000 with {K-Hearts}{4-Hearts} and Abdellatif looked him up from the big blind with {A-Spades}{9-Hearts}. The board ran out {Q-Hearts}{2-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}{7-Spades}.

With that, Kitai hit the rail in 36th place, good for $9,780.

Morales Hits the Rail

Level 17 : 3,000/6,000, 1,000 ante

From early position, Kenneth Smaron opened for 15,000. Action folded around to Arturo Morales on the button and he shoved for 58,000 total. Both blinds released, Smaron called.

Arturo Morales: {K-Hearts}{J-Clubs}
Kenneth Smaron: {A-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}

Without much show, the dealer ran out the {2-Clubs}{5-Hearts}{Q-Spades}{4-Hearts}{10-Diamonds} board. Smaron started stacking chips, Morales was on his way to the payout desk.

Sapitavicius is Chipping Back Up

Level 17 : 3,000/6,000, 1,000 ante

Arunas Sapitavicius was in early position and raised to 13,000. Caufman Talley was on the button and called, and Harpreet Gill decided to defend his big blind.

The flop came {a-Hearts}{8-Hearts}{4-Clubs} and all three players checked to the turn, which was the {8-Diamonds}.

Gill reached into his stack and led out for 18,000. Sapitavicius called and Talley folded.

The river was the {4-Spades}. Gill led out for 18,000 again, and Sapitavicius smiled, shook his head and called again.

Gill said, "I'm playing the board", reluctant to show his cards. Sapitavicius tabled {a-Spades}{7-Spades} for two pair, aces and eights and Gill's cards briefly flashed but quickly went into the muck.

Denis Timofeev's Bluff Picked Off

Level 17 : 3,000/6,000, 1,000 ante
Tito Ortiz, Denis Timofeev
Tito Ortiz, Denis Timofeev

With around 180,000 already in the pot and a board reading {k-Hearts}{k-Spades}{8-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}{k-Clubs}, Denis Timofeev thought long and hard before betting 135,000. Jonathan Abdellatif thought for an equally long time before making the call. Timofeev shook his head and showed the {j-Hearts}{2-Hearts}, which prompted Abdellatif to table his {5-Diamonds}{5-Hearts} winner.

Pavliuk's Hand Killed

Level 17 : 3,000/6,000, 1,000 ante

Tito Ortiz raised to 12,000 in the cutoff and saw James Salmon reraise to 38,000 in the small blind. Roman Pavliuk cold-called, and Ortiz mucked to leave it heads up. The flop was {8-Hearts}{2-Spades}{4-Clubs}, and Salmon bet 32,000. Pavliuk again called. Both checked the {2-Hearts} turn, and a {10-Clubs} completed the board. Salmon fired a pot-sized bet of 167,000, about half of his stack. Pavliuk would have to put in almost all of his chips if he called, so he took a long time to think. After about four minutes, someone called a clock. Pavliuk used his allotted minute without making a decision, so Salmon won the pot.

Wozniczek and Masis Off to the Races

Level 17 : 3,000/6,000, 1,000 ante

The preflop action escaped us, but we do know that Robin Luca Wozniczek got his stack of 250,000 all in preflop and was at risk against Alberto Fonseca Masis, who barely had him covered with 263,000.

Masis: {a-Hearts}{j-Diamonds}
Wozniczek: {10-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}

It was a big flip, and the proverbial coin came down in favor of the tens after the board ran out a clean {6-Hearts}{9-Clubs}{6-Diamonds}{2-Clubs}{4-Diamonds}.

Masis got the remainder of his stack all in on the next hand and fell when his {a-Spades}{9-Clubs} failed to overcome the {q-Spades}{q-Diamonds} of Michael Lech after a {j-Hearts}{5-Spades}{4-Clubs}{6-Diamonds}{2-Clubs} run out.
