Chidwick Gets Value From Kurganov

Level 14 : 10,000/20,000, 3,000 ante

Stephen Chidwick raised to 40,000 and Igor Kurganov defended his big blind. On the {4-Diamonds}{2-Clubs}{5-Diamonds} flop, Kurganov check-called 55,000 from Chidwick. Both players checked the {6-Diamonds} on the turn.

The river brought the {6-Clubs} and Kurganov checked. Chidwick bet 120,000, Kurganov used a time bank chip before calling. Chidwick tabled {J-Spades}{J-Hearts} for jacks up and Kurganov mucked his hand.

Shortly after, Kurganov three-bet shoved and got it through to get to 380000.

Vladimir Troyanovskiy Eliminated in 6th Place (€83,000)

Level 14 : 10,000/20,000, 3,000 ante
Igor Kurganov and Vladimir Troyanovskiy
Igor Kurganov and Vladimir Troyanovskiy

Igor Kurganov limp-shoved into a raise to 60,000 by JC Alvarado and forced a fold. The next hand, Alvarado made it 45,000 to go from the cutoff and Vladimir Troyanovskiy moved all in from the button. Once Alvarado had asked for a count and received 344,000 as answer, he called a few seconds later and the cards were turned over.

Vladimir Troyanovskiy: {A-Hearts}{7-Hearts}
JC Alvarado: {K-Diamonds}{Q-Hearts}

The {9-Clubs}{8-Spades}{5-Clubs} flop changed nothing much yet, but the {K-Hearts} turn vaulted Alvarado in the lead. Only an ace or six would keep Troyanovskiy in the running, and the {8-Clubs} river saw him grab his belongings, add a "nice call" and head to the payout desk to collect €83,000 for his efforts. All remaining five players now have €108,000 locked up.

Erik Seidel Eliminated in 7th Place (€67,000)

Level 14 : 10,000/20,000, 3,000 ante

Erik Seidel

Directly after Vogelsang busted, Erik Seidel shoved from under the gun and Stephen Chidwick reshoved on the button. Alvarado, as the sole blind, quickly folded.

Erik Seidel: {7-Clubs}{7-Hearts}
Stephen Chidwick: {J-Diamonds}{J-Spades}

It was all but over after the {J-Hearts}{6-Hearts}{5-Spades} flop and the {6-Diamonds} on the turn sealed it for Chidwick, rendering the {Q-Diamonds} river moot. Seidel bowed out in 7th place for €67,000, tapped the table and wished everyone good luck.

Christoph Vogelsang Bubbles the Second €25,500 Single-Day High Roller

Level 14 : 10,000/20,000, 3,000 ante
Christoph Vogelsang
Christoph Vogelsang

JC Alvarado opened to 45,000 from under the gun and Christoph Vogelsang in the big blind checked his stack, which amounted to around 15 big blinds or 300,000, and moved all in. Alvarado snap-called and both players turned over pocket pairs.

Christoph Vogelsang: {10-Spades}{10-Diamonds}
JC Alvarado: {Q-Spades}{Q-Clubs}

Once again the player at risk on the money bubble got it in with the worse pocket pair, but this time there was no lucky punch as the board ran out {A-Spades}{J-Clubs}{4-Hearts}{4-Clubs}{6-Hearts}. "Good game, good luck guys," Vogelsang said before heading to the rail. All remaining seven players are now guaranteed at least €67,000 for their efforts.

Troyanoyskiy Escapes on the Bubble

Level 14 : 10,000/20,000, 3,000 ante
Vladimir Troyanovskiy (right)

Stephen Chidwick raised to 35,000 under the gun. Short stack Vladimir Troyanovskiy shoved 176,000 in late position and back on Chidwick, he instantly called.

Stephen Chidwick: {Q-Clubs}{Q-Spades}
Vladimir Troyanovskiy: {9-Clubs}{9-Spades}

Troyanovskiy jumped out of his seat, already packed up his stuff and was ready to leave. Perhaps the old stand-up trick still has some merit to it as there was a nine for Troyanovskiy on {7-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}{A-Hearts}{4-Spades} to double him up.

Juanda Eliminated, Final Table Eight-Handed

Level 13 : 8,000/16,000, 2,000 ante
John Juanda
John Juanda

At the short-handed table, JC Alvardo was hammering his big stack around to pressure his shorter-stacked opponents. This time, Alvarado open-shoved from the button, with Muehloecker and Juanda both having over 20 big blinds in the blinds.

Muehloecker folded and Juanda went in the tank. While Juanda was thinking, Oleksii Khoroshenin busted at the other table to make the final table official. Juanda thought some more and then called it off for 361,000.

JC Alvarado: {K-Hearts}{J-Hearts}
John Juanda: {A-Spades}{9-Spades}

The {Q-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}{2-Hearts} flop added a flush draw to Alvarado's outs. The {4-Spades} on the turn was a blank but the {4-Hearts} on the river brought the third heart to knock Juanda out in 9th, two places shy of the money. The final table will now be played eight-handed from the start.

Chidwick Sends Khoroshenin to the Rail

Oleksii Khoroshenin (left) falls short of the final table
Oleksii Khoroshenin (left) falls short of the final table

Oleksii Khoroshenin was all in for a mere 107,000 from the button and Stephen Chidwick called instantly out of the big blind.

Oleksii Khoroshenin: {A-Clubs}{Q-Clubs}
Stephen Chidwick: {9-Spades}{9-Clubs}

The board of {7-Spades}{7-Clubs}{3-Diamonds}{K-Diamonds}{K-Clubs} and that sent Khoroshenin to the rail, reducing the field to the last nine. They will now combine to the final table and the money bubble looms.
