Asjoe Jams Into Zeiter

Level 7 : 300/600, 100 ante

With plenty of chips already in the middle and the turn reading {K-Clubs}{J-Diamonds}{2-Hearts}{6-Hearts}, Zico Tjin-Asjoe checked and called a bet of 9,400 by Diego Zeiter before the {5-Hearts} on the river completed a possible back door flush. Tijn-Asjoe bet 35,000, which had the remaining stack of Zeiter covered, and the Swiss sent his cards into the muck.

Without showdown, Tijn-Asjoe bumped his stack to six digits and sits comfortably above the average.

No Pair, No Problem

Level 7 : 300/600, 100 ante

Marti Roca de Torres opened for 1,400 in the hijack. Georgios Zisimopoulos made it 4,300 on the button and Serhii Popovych called in the small blind after some thought. Roca de Torres exited the hand and the flop came {q-Spades}{j-Hearts}{6-Spades}. Popovych check-called 4,000 and both the {9-Spades} and {4-Clubs} got checked through. Popovych opened {a-Diamonds}{k-Clubs} and the nut no-pair was good.

Chidwick In; Peters Out

Level 7 : 300/600, 100 ante

David Peters entered as one of the last players only to bust soon after while Stephen Chidwick has just taken a seat in the penultimate level of the night. Other recent casualties include Simon Boss, Mikalai Vaskaboinikau, Fabrice Maltez, Raman Afanasenka and Andrei Streltsou.

Thorel Joins the Rail

Level 7 : 300/600, 100 ante

Serhii Popovych raised to 1,500 and Jean-Noel Thorel quickly three-bet from one seat over to 4,000, which only Popovych called. After a flop of {9-Spades}{5-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}, Popovych checked and Thorel made it 7,000 to go. Popovych check-raised all in and Thorel briefly checked his remaining stack before calling it off.

Jean-Noel Thorel: {6-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}
Serhii Popovych: {A-Spades}{9-Clubs}

Thorel was the player at risk and in need of help, but neither the {10-Hearts} turn nor the {A-Diamonds} river provided any of that to send the Frenchman to the rail.

O'Dwyer Wins Battle of Big Stacks

Level 7 : 300/600, 100 ante
Steve O'Dwyer
Steve O'Dwyer

Helio Neves and Steve O'Dwyer played what looked to be a three-bet pot with the former under the gun and checking a {9-Hearts}{q-Hearts}{2-Diamonds} flop and the latter betting 5,600 from the button. Neves called and they checked the {4-Clubs} to bring a {9-Clubs} river. Neves bet 6,500 and O'Dwyer thought about 30 seconds, grimaced, and called.

His {a-Spades}{k-Clubs} was good however as Neves missed a draw with {j-Spades}{10-Spades}.

Reixach Coolers Wigg

Level 7 : 300/600, 100 ante
Anton Wigg
Anton Wigg

Sergi Reixach opened for 1,400 in middle position and Anton Wigg defended the big blind. Both checked the flop, bringing a board of {9-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}{5-Spades}{q-Hearts}. Wigg check-called 1,800 and then checked the {a-Spades}. Reixach jammed and Wigg snapped for his last 7,000 or so. He had to muck his {a-}{9-} though, when Reixach showed {a-Hearts}{q-Spades} for top two.

"Good luck, guys," Wigg said with a sigh before grabbing his jacket.

Weis Builds Stack

Level 7 : 300/600, 100 ante

A raise by Oliver Weis was met with a three-bet to 3,400 by Jean-Noel Thorel and Ondrej Jakubcik called in the cutoff, as did Weis. The flop fell {Q-Hearts}{6-Spades}{2-Spades} and action checked to Jakubcik, who bet 4,000. Only Weis called and checked again the {10-Clubs} on the turn. Jakubcik bet 7,500 this time around to pick up a call by the German before the {8-Clubs} river was checked.

Jakubcik showed {7-Diamonds}{7-Spades} and Weis had that beat with the {10-Spades}{9-Spades}.

Two for Mateos

Level 7 : 300/600, 100 ante

Adrian Mateos opened in the cutoff and Martin Staszko defended big blind. The Czech player check-called 2,000 on the {10-Diamonds}{q-Spades}{8-Spades} flop. He checked again on the {5-Diamonds} and Mateos barreled big with 7,500. That convinced Staszko to give it up.

The next hand, Jean-Noel Thorel opened in early position to 1,300 and Mateos made it 3,750 to go. That was enough to win him the pot uncontested.

Mateos' trademark aggression is working like a charm at the moment.

Mooney Rising

Level 7 : 300/600, 100 ante

According to Georgios Zisimopoulos, John Mooney won a massive pot before the dinner break to bust [Removed:172] and double through him. Kramer limp-shoved into a raise and a call by Zisimopoulos for his last 14,000 and the Greek reprised to 27,000. Mooney called with pocket queens and flopped a set against the pocket kings of Zisimopoulos, while Kramer stood no chance with pocket sevens.

Below are further updated chip counts heading into the penultimate level of the night. New additions after the dinner break include JC Alvarado and Dietrich Fast.
