After eight levels of 75 minutes each and two separate starting days, the 2017 PokerStars Championship Prague €5,300 Main Event has attracted 193 and 655 runners respectively to create a field of 848 entries thus far. Of those, at least 409 hopefuls will return to the main tournament room of the Hilton Hotel in Prague for Day 2 as of noon local time.

However, the registration remains open until cards get back in the air and all new entries prior to this will start their mission for glory with 30 big blinds in level nine at blinds of 500/1,000 with a running ante of 100. The man to catch thus far is well-known Czech poker pro Michal Mrakes with 202,700, followed by Day 1b chip leader Tsugunari Toma (181,600) and Xixiang Luo (174,900).

Other notables with big stacks include Matas Cimbolas (171,500), 2017 World Series of Poker Europe Main Event champion Marti Roca De Torres (170,900), Narcis-Gabriel Nedelcu (167,500), Akin Tuna (155,600), 2017 PokerStars Festival Rozvadov champion Petr Svoboda (146,400), Vlado Banicevic (143,500), Mikhail Rudoy (142,400), former Czech November Niner Martin Staszko (133,100) and 2016 Irish Open champion Daniel Wilson (132,000).

A host of PokerStars Team Pros also remain in contention: Marcin Horecki, who comes fresh off an 8th place finish in the PokerStars Festival Hamburg €1,100 Main Event a few weeks ago, leads the red spade representatives with 110,400, while Igor Kurganov also made it through with an above-average stack of 100,000. Fatima Moreira de Melo will return with 74,200, Jake Cody starts Day 2 with 66,400 . Furthermore, Friend of PokerStars Maria Konnikova (46,200), Liv Boeree (27,200) and Felipe Ramos (16,900) are among those with hopes for a deep run at the end of the year.

Day 2 will feature a total of six levels of 75 minutes each with a 20-minute break after the second and fourth level of the day. There will be no dinner break and the field is expected to get closer to the money bubble without bursting just yet.
