Salter Busts

Level 9 : 3,000/6,000, 1,000 ante
Jack Salter (photo from an earlier event)
Jack Salter (photo from an earlier event)

Jack Salter pushed his last 49,000 in from the button. Big blind Steve O'Dwyer looked him up after getting a count.

Jack Salter: {A-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}
Steve O'Dwyer: {K-Diamonds}{J-Clubs}

The {6-Hearts}{2-Clubs}{6-Diamonds} flop was good for Salter but the {K-Clubs} on the turn wasn't.

"Ace from space!" Salter said with a smile.

No ace from no space as the {5-Hearts} completed the board.

Chop It Up

Level 8 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante

As we arrived, the flop was already out in a pot between David Peters (big blind) and Rainer Kempe (button). Peters bet 18,000 on {Q-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}{3-Clubs} and Kempe called.

Peters ran down his 30-second clock on the {K-Hearts} turn and only had a second left to act when he made it 28,000. Kempe did the same with his clock, calling at the last second.

The {2-Clubs} on the river saw Peters check. Kempe, again, needed all the time he had and was just in time moving in for 111,600. Peters called.

Kempe showed {Q-Diamonds}{K-Clubs} and Peters tabled {K-Spades}{Q-Hearts} for the chop.

Chidwick Eliminated

Level 8 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante
Stephen Chidwick
Stephen Chidwick

Stephen Chidwick was all in for his last few chips from the small blind. Jason Mercier (big blind) and Ryan Riess (under the gun) were in the pot with him.

The side-pot remained the same as both players checked {8-Hearts}{8-Spades}{6-Hearts}. Mercier then check-folded to a bet on the {9-Hearts} turn. Chidwick showed {9-Clubs}{5-Diamonds} for two pair but was drawing slim against the {6-Clubs}{6-Spades} of Riess.

The river {3-Hearts} made things official: Chidwick eliminated.
