Elias Gutierrez Eliminated by Randy Lew to Break the Bubble

Level 18 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante
Elias Gutierrez
Elias Gutierrez

Elias Gutierrez got his stack in the middle before the flop against Randy Lew, who had him covered by a wide margin.

Gutierrez: {A-}{K-}
Lew: {A-Spades}{10-Spades}

Gutierrez had the preflop advantage with the better ace and Lew needed help to take the pot and send his opponent to the rail. The board ran out {10-}{5-}{2-}{4-}{2-}, pairing Lew's ten to give him the pot and end what turned out to be a very quick bubble.

Yutaka's Pocket Pair Is Better

Level 18 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante

With about 50,000 chips already in the middle and the board reading {Q-Hearts}{J-Spades}{2-Clubs}, Kazuhiko Yotsushika checked from the big blind to his lone opponent, Horzuchi Yutaka in middle position. Yutaka checked behind.

The turn brought the {3-Clubs}, Yotsushika bet 22,000, and Yutaka called.

The river was the {3-Spades} and Yotsushika bet again, 30,000 this time. Yutaka called and tabled {5-Hearts}{5-Diamonds} which was good enough to win the pot against Yotsushika's {4-}{4-}.

Linh Tran Eliminated by Takayuki Iwamoto

Level 18 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante

Action folded to Linh Tran on the button and he moved all-in for 89,000. Takayuki Iwamoto reshoved from the small blind, the big blind got out of the way, and the two players tabled their hands.

Iwamoto: {9-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}
Tran: {A-Hearts}{4-Hearts}

Tran found himself trailing Iwamoto's pocket nines and needed help from the deck in order to preserve his tournament life. The flop fell {9-Spades}{6-Clubs}{4-Diamonds}, giving Iwamoto a set to further extend his lead and leave Tran in terrible shape. The {5-Spades} turn and {10-Clubs} river changed nothing and Iwamoto took the pot to send Tran to the rail.

While this hand was in progress, Yang Zhang was also eliminated on the next table over.
