Janik Loses Some

Level 11 : 800/1,600, 200 ante

With a substantial pot of about 35,000 already brewing on a completed board of {6-}{4-}{3-}{Q-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}, Scott Janik was in the hijack and facing a decision for 15,000 chips from an opponent in middle position. After some consideration, Janik called and his opponent tabled {A-Diamonds}{10-Spades} for a rivered pair of tens, which was good enough to win the pot.

Lew Bets and Wins

Level 11 : 800/1,600, 200 ante

Randy Lew raised to 3,600 from the hijack and both blinds called.

The flop came {Q-Clubs}{6-Spades}{5-Hearts} and action checked to Lew. He bet 4,500 and the small blind folded fairly quickly. After a bit of thought, the big blind did the same, and Lew took the pot to put his stack over the 100,000-chip mark.

Chung Holds Off a Jack and a Chop

Level 10 : 600/1,200, 200 ante

A player under the gun moved all in for 16,900, and action folded to Lawrence Chung in the small blind. He put in a call, and the big blind folded.

Chung: {k-Spades}{k-Clubs}
Under the gun: {j-Hearts}{j-Clubs}

The {a-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds} flop improved neither player, but the {2-Diamonds} turn brought a chance for a chop if another diamond hit. However, the river was a {10-Hearts}, and Chung scored the knockout after previously getting unlucky with kings against ace-king in a preflop all in.

Lew's Top Pair Good

Level 10 : 600/1,200, 200 ante

A player in the big blind defended against Randy Lew's button raise, and Lew bet 2,500 into about 8,000 on a {q-Hearts}{3-Spades}{5-Diamonds} flop. The big blind called and a {5-Hearts} fell. This time, the big blind came out betting with 4,500. Lew tossed in a call, and both players checked after the {6-Clubs} hit.

The big blind showed {k-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}, having paired up on the end, but Lew had him in bad shape the whole way with {k-Spades}{q-Spades}.

Level 10 : 600/1,200, 200 ante

In a three-bet pot, Yuto Watanabe bet 6,200 from the button on a {9-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}{7-Diamonds} flop, and his opponent in the cutoff called. Watanabe checked back the {2-Diamonds} turn, and the {9-Spades} river put trips on board. The player in the cutoff bet 8,000, and Watanabe thought about 15 seconds before putting in a call. The cutoff showed {a-}{q-}, but Watanabe had {a-Hearts}{k-Spades} and took the pot.

Okuda Finds a Double on the River

Level 10 : 600/1,200, 200 ante

Nobuyuki Okuda got all in from the small blind with {a-Spades}{q-Clubs} and was flipping against a player in the big blind who had {j-Hearts}{j-Spades}. The {k-Diamonds}{4-Spades}{8-Spades} did nothing for Okuda, but the {5-Spades} brought him a flush draw. A {q-Diamonds} river paired him for a double, leaving his opponent with just 1,500.
