Cech Gets Involved

Level 28 : 40,000/80,000, 10,000 ante

Ludovic Geilich opened to 175,000 from under the gun and claimed the blinds and antes.

The next hand, Eric Cech raised to 160,000 from the small blind and Geilich called in the big blind. On the {10-Hearts}{4-Hearts}{4-Diamonds} flop, Cech check-called a bet worth 215,000 before checking again the {2-Diamonds} turn. Now Geilich bet 485,000 and that scooped the pot without further resistance.

Fast forward another hand, it folded around to Cech on the button and he raised to 175,000. Guillem Cusco Bach called in the big blind, then check-folded the {8-Spades}{7-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds} flop to a continuation bet worth 305,000 by Cech.

Cautious Nine Handed Play

Level 28 : 40,000/80,000, 10,000 ante

No big hands have developed since they went nine handed.

Lam Van Trinh lost a smallish pot to Daniel Harwood blind on blind when his top pair fell behind to trips and he paid off a river bet.

Eric Cech opened and folded to a jam from Alexis Fleur but Cech opened again the next hand and took the antes and blinds.

Four-Bet Shove by Cusco Bach

Level 28 : 40,000/80,000, 10,000 ante

Clement Tripodi limped in from the small blind and Yuriy Boyko raised to 230,000 in the big blind. Tripodi called before both players ended up checking {A-Spades}{9-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}{J-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}. Boyko flipped over {9-Spades}{2-Spades} for a pair of nines and Tripodi mucked pocket fives.

The next hand, Guillem Cusco Bach raised to 175,000 and Boyko three-bet to 405,000 from the small blind. Cusco Bach moved all in and Boyko quickly mucked without even asking for a count.

Lam Van Trinh opened for 200,000 and Rehman Kassam three-bet to 450,000. Guillem Cusco Bach responded by moving all in. Van Trinh folded but there was a quick call from Kassam.

Kassam showed {a-Clubs}{a-Hearts}
Bach with {j-Diamonds}{j-Hearts}.

“Do we have our favourite hand?” the rail asked Kassam. “We do.” Kassam grinned.

The flop of {q-Diamonds}{j-Spades}{6-Hearts} brought groans from the rail but that soon turned to gasps as the {a-Spades} hit the turn. The river {5-Diamonds} completed the board and while Kassam was a relived man a disappointed Bach fell just short of the official final table.
