Ramos Back In the Game

Level 9 : 500/1,000, 100 ante

We arrived to see PokerStars Team Pro Felipe Ramos bet the turn of a board reading {q-Diamonds}{3-Clubs}{2-Spades}{4-Clubs} for 3,300 and his opponent laying it down.

Nothing too surprising in that but he added that pot to his increased stack and is currently playing 47,000 which is right around average. Let’s see what the Brazilian can do on a cold January night in London from there.

Kathryn Lindsay Triples Up

Level 9 : 500/1,000, 100 ante

Kathryn Lindsay was all in preflop for around 10,000 and got called in two spots, never a good feeling even after you see the cards.

Lindsay had {a-Hearts}{10-Spades} and was up against {a-Spades}{9-Diamonds} and {a-Clubs}{8-Spades}.

The board ran out {4-Diamonds}{j-Hearts}{2-Hearts}{6-Hearts}{q-Hearts}.

Outs duly dodged a relieved Lindsay was congratulated by Chris Moorman who had come over to see the action.

Istvan Kinal Building A Tower

Level 9 : 500/1,000, 100 ante

The battle at the top of the leaderboard has been tight for a while but recently Istvan Kinal from Hungary has emerged to challenge the top guns. He has just been moved to David Docherty’s table, another of the big stacks.

Kinal has position on Docherty so it could be an interesting few levels if they stay in the same positions.

Da Silva At the Double

Level 10 : 600/1,200, 200 ante

Chris Da Silva moved all in on the turn of a board reading {6-Diamonds}{4-Clubs}{4-Spades}{k-Spades} and William Martin called. “You got aces?” Da Silva asked but the answer was no.

Martin tabled {j-Clubs}{j-Diamonds} and Da Silva showed {a-Clubs}{k-Clubs}.

The river was the {8-Spades} and Da Silva got a near double up to eliminate Martin.

Will Davies Ladies and Gentleman

Level 11 : 800/1,600, 200 ante

Paulo Alexandre Lopes, Chris Da Silva and William Davies were involved in some preflop action when Davies moved all in for 43,500 and Lopes shoved behind for 89,700.

Da Silva said he had flatted preflop to call a shove but hadn’t reckoned on Lopes getting so heavily involved. He agonised about it for a while but let his hand go.

Davies had {a-Diamonds}{k-Clubs} and Lopes {q-Clubs}{q-Spades}. Da Silva said he folded Jacks.

The board ran out {a-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}{3-Spades}{9-Spades}.

“Will Davies ladies and gentleman.” Da Silva said of the ace on the flop for his friend.

Dempsey In the Dumps

Level 11 : 800/1,600, 200 ante

The flop was {5-Clubs}{7-Spades}{q-Diamonds} and James Dempsey led out from the big blind for 5,400. Constantin Erhan on the button raised to 11,000 and Dempsey had a decision to make. Neither player had a huge pile of chips behind them so there was little to no wriggle room.

Dempsey opted to call and saw the turn come the {5-Diamonds}. Dempsey checked and a bet of 7,500 from Erhan saw a shove from Dempsey and a quick call.

Dempsey tabled {q-Spades}{10-Spades} for top pair but Erhan had a set with his {7-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}.

The river was the {10-Hearts} and a double up for Erhan saw Dempsey down to fumes.
