Peter Jorgne was all-in for around 35,000 on a flop of J♠8♦3♣, and at risk versus Giorgio Calligaris.
Peter Jorgne: J♣7♣
Giorgio Calligaris: J♥3♠
Jorgne had top pair but it was no good versus Calligaris' two pair, and the A♣2♦ runout confirmed the Swede's exit, him chopping a minimum cash with three other players.
Michael Nicholls was all-in for 45,000 on a flop of A♠9♥3♠ and at risk versus Franklin Hincapie.
Michael Nicholls: A♣3♣
Franklin Hincapie: 9♠6♠
Nicholls was ahead with two pair versus Hincapie’s pair of nines and flush draw, and the A♥ turn improved him to a full house, the J♠ river completing the runout.
Nicholls celebrated wholeheartedly, as the room sighed in unison on the turn.
A pot of around 35,000 had developed on a board of 5♦3♦3♠7♠, and Manuel Ledesma jammed from the big blind with an overbet of 65,000.
Alexander Wodl was in the cutoff with about 185,000 behind, and took about 90-seconds to think before he made the call, Ledesma with his arms and head almost parallel to the table the whole time Wodl was thinking.
Manuel Ledesma: K♦9♦
Alexander Wodl: J♦J♠
Ledesma had the flush draw, and Wodl thumped the table in frustration when the A♦ hit on the river to send Ledesma the double-up.
A pot of 240,000 had developed by the river, on a board of 8♥6♣J♣10♥3♦, after Henrik Veldhoen check-called from the big blind versus a bet of 65,000 from Alejandro Lococo in middle position on the turn.
On the river Veldhoen checked once more. Lococo took some time counting out his chips, before sliding out a bet of 135,000, leaving himself only 15,000 behind.
Veldhoen quickly flicked in a calling chip and tabled 8♣6♥ for the flopped two pair, while Lococo had K♣J♠ for top pair jacks. The Argentine pursed his lips and shook his head, looking thoroughly disgusted with his misfortune.
Eetu Sepponen was all-in for 55,000 and at risk versus Aiguo Xu.
Eetu Sepponen: 8♦8♠
Aiguo Xu: A♠K♦
Sepponen was ahead in a race, and Xu bricked the Q♠4♠4♣Q♣2♥ runout. "You thought one of those fours was an ace, didn't you" joked a tablemate with Sepponen, as he raked in the pot.
A pot of around 75,000 had developed on a completed board of Q♠8♦4♣6♣8♥, in a hand between Marios Zerevoudis in middle position and Mariona Riba on the button.
Zerevoudis fired out a bet of 40,000, and Riba took some time to think. After around 90-seconds, she jammed for around 120,000, earning a snap-fold from her opponent, who tapped the table as Riba raked in the pot.
A pot of around 75,000 had developed on a completed board of K♦10♣K♠A♣J♣, in a three-way hand between Krysztof Zapolski, Bobby Simons and Ricardo Martos.
Zapolski led out with a bet of 42,000, and was met with a raise from Simons to around 95,000, with about 60,000 behind. Ricardo Martos then rejammed for around 340,000, covering both players.
"Wow!" said Zapolski as soon as Martos jammed, looking to the heavens. He thought it through for around a minute, before announcing he was all-in, covering Simons, who quickly got the rest of his stack into the middle.
Zapolski tabled A♥A♠ for the full house, but Simons said "Royal flush" and tabled K♣Q♣. Martos couldn't believe his K♥J♠ for the lower full house was in third.
Simons scooped a monster pot as the entire table took photographs of the barely believable hand. Zapolski took the side-pot to stay in it.
Around 60,000 was in the middle on a flop of K♦5♣4♥, in a hand between Krzysztof Grubka on the button and Claudio Di Giacomo in the small blind.
Di Giacomo led out with a bet of 16,000, but was met with a raise to 33,000 from Grubka. Chip leader Di Giacomo jammed with the covering stack, and Grubka snapped.
Krzysztof Grubka: K♥Q♠
Claudio Di Giacomo: A♠10♣
Grubka had the goods with top pair versus Di Giacomo's bluff, and the Italian could not find an ace on the 5♥9♥ runout.
