Asghar Calls Down

Level 6 : Blinds 300/600, 600 ante

Action was opened in early position to 2,000. A player in middle position called and action was on Jamiel Asghar in the cutoff. He only took a moment before three-betting to 6,000. The original raiser folded but the player in middle position flicked in a call.

The 8Q10 flop landed and the player in middle position check-called a 4,000 continuation bet from Asghar.

The A landed on the turn and action checked through to a 10 river.

The player in early position then led out for 17,000. Asghar thought it over for almost a minute before putting in the chips and hearing the magic words from his opponent, "Good call".

Asghar tabled A8 for a turned two pair and his opponent showed 53 before mucking.

Insane Runout for Marini

Level 7 : Blinds 400/800, 800 ante

Action was opened under the gun to 2,000. There was then a player in early position who went all in for his last 12,300. It folded all the way to Anthony Marini in the big blind who flat called the 12,300 and action was back on the under the gun player. He took his time and eventually went all in for about 27,000. Marini didn't wait long before making the call and the cards hit their backs.

Early Position: Q6
Under the Gun: AJ
Anthony Marini: 77

The KxQx10x flop was a disaster for Marini as his opponent flopped the nut straight. The 7x turn would suddenly bring him some life and board pairing 10x river would give him the win after an absolutley insane runout.

Asghar Bombs the River

Level 8 : Blinds 500/1,000, 1,000 ante

Action was opened in middle position by Jamiel Asghar to 2,000. He got a call from the cutoff and the big blind.

The A810 flop hit the felt and action checked to Asghar who continued for 3,000. Both players called.

The turn brought a 9 and action quickly checked through to a Q river.

The big blind then led out for 7,000. Asghar sat in the tank for a moment before putting in a large raise to 21,000. The cutoff thought for a moment but got out of the way and action was back on the big blind. He shook his head and seemed to have a tough decision but eventually mucked.

Asghar dragged in the pot to give him a healthy stack going into the middle off the day.
