Six on the Turn Saves Barbosa

Joao "joaobarb" Barbosa opened for 800 under the gun and cleared the field all the way around to "bullyon" in the big blind. Instead of giving it up, bullyon exercised his option with a raise to 2,100. Barbosa responded by moving all in for 13,282, bullyon snap-called, and the cards were turned up:

Showdown
Barbosa: {A-Clubs}{6-Clubs}
bullyon: {A-Spades}{K-Spades}

Barbosa's tournament life was on the line and he was dominated. The {2-Hearts}{3-Spades}{2-Clubs} flop wasn't much help to Barbosa, but the {6-Diamonds} was! The harmless {9-Spades} was put out on the river and Barbosa double to over 27K.

More For Gross

In the big blind, Steve "gboro780" Gross called a min-raise to 800 and saw a {9-Hearts}{8-Clubs}{6-Spades} flop with two others.

Gross and "oliva86d" checked to Felipe "Improved" Montenegro who bet 1,677. Gross called, but "oliva86d" shoved for 8,186. Montenegro folded, sening Gross into the tank for a bit.

After a few moments Gross called with {10-Clubs}{9-Clubs}, leading the {7-Diamonds}{7-Spades} held by "oliva86d". The {7-Clubs} hit turn, making a straight for Gross but also giving "oliva86d" out to a full house. However, the {3-Diamonds} river was not one of them and Gross won the pot.

Steve Gross

All in after the turn of a {10-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}{2-Spades}{7-Clubs} board, Steve Gross held {7-Spades}{7-Hearts} against the {J-Spades}{J-Hearts} held by "TranquilMind". The {10-Hearts} river secured the double for Gross who is now back to around the starting stack.

French Fries and Spacegravy

Action folded to "VL-Hannibal" in the cutoff and he promptly raised to 910. Team PokerStars Pro (Online) Grayson "spacegravy" Physioc was nursing a short stack in the small blind and opted for a three-bet to 3,600. Surprisingly, "MikeCzechl" woke up with a four-bet to 6,290 in the big blind, which was enough to get the original raiser to fold. Physioc then moved all in for 8,619 and MikeCzechl made the call.

Showdown
Physioc: {2-Clubs}{2-Diamonds}
MikeCzechl: {10-Spades}{10-Diamonds}

Physioc was dominated and needed a deuce; unfortunately for him, the board ran out {5-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}{7-Spades}{7-Hearts}{4-Spades} and his 2011 WCOOP Main Event came to an end.

More Eliminations

While the identity of "!P0krpartyi" is a mystery (though rumored to be Harry Kaczka), he has been tearing up the high-stakes games as of late, which you can read all about in our latest Online Railbird Report. Unfortunately, !P0krpartyi's hopes of a WCOOP title has come to an end.

Deeb Busts One

Shaun Deeb
Shaun Deeb

Shaun Deeb opened to 750 in middle position and was called by Evan "fold_em_sho7" Lamprea in the cutoff.

The flop fell {A-Hearts}{A-Clubs}{2-Hearts} and Deeb fired 1,050. Lamprea called, landing the {10-Hearts} on the turn. Deeb checked it this time and Lamprea bet 1,688. A check-raise was on Deeb's mind as he made it 5,250 to go. Lamprea called and when the {K-Diamonds} hit the river, Deeb shoved for 15,848. Lamprea called all in for 15,488 with {A-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds} for a flopped full house, but Deeb tabled {A-Spades}{10-Clubs} for a turned full house to score the elimination.

Medic vs. Pezzin

Nenad "serb2127" Medic opened for 721 from the hijack and action folded all the way to Pat Pezzin in the big blind. He decided to defend with a call and it was heads up to the {A-Hearts}{K-Clubs}{3-Hearts} flop. Pezzin proceeded to check-call a bet of 1,001, before both players checked the {6-Clubs} turn.

When the {Q-Spades} hit the river, Pezzin led out for 2,372 only to have Medic raise to 6,102. Pezzin tanked for a bit before making the call and showing down {A-Spades}{Q-Clubs} for two pair, which easily beat Medic's {5-Diamonds}{5-Spades}.
