Renan "Internett93o" Bruschi became a nine-time WCOOP champion on September 22, when he triumphed in the $2,100 NLO8 6-Max PKO event. With this victory, Bruschi drew level with Yuri "theNERDguy" Dzivielevski in regard to WCOOP victories enjoyed by a Brazilian.

This specialist event attracted 58 entrants, a small field but one brimming with top-tier poker talent. Any of the seven finalists would have made a worthy champion, but the night belonged to Bruschi, who put on a dominant performance, as evidenced by his claiming $25,312 worth of bounties.

Patrick "pads161" Leonard was the first finalist to fall before "Zanos_Goda" crashed out; the sixth-place finisher would later capture their third WCOOP gong in the $1,050 5-Card PLO8 event.

Thiago "KKremate" Krema, "iamivar," and Talal "raidalot" Shakerchi also fell by the wayside, leaving Bruschi heads-up with "FAL1st," who was hopeful of winning his 11th WCOOP event. Bruschi got the job done heads up, walking away with $42,258 in prize money and WCOOP title number nine.
