At 7:05 p.m. CEST, Day 1of the WCOOP-16-M: $1,050 NLHE [8-Max, Progressive KO, Freezeout, Thursday Thrill SE] is set to kick off with a brilliant guaranteed prize pool of $1,000,000. The 16th Event of the 2020 PokerStars WCOOP Series has three buy-in levels on offer as usual and PokerNews will be right here to bring you all the exciting bounty action.

The first event with this format and buy-in was won on Tuesday by Rinat "Zapahzamazki" Lyapin for $175,586 in total which included $68,516 in bounties with players like Yuri "theNERDguy" Dzivielevski, Andy "BowieEffect" Wilson, and Rasmus "Powergolf" Zerr joining him on the final table.

Evan "PURPLE"K"99" Parkes, Joni "bustoville" Jouhkimainen, Thomas "WushuTM" Muehloecker, Luke "Bit2Easy" Reeves, Joao "Naza114" Vieira, Fahredin "FeriBo" Mustafov, and Benjamin "bencb789" Rolle also made deep runs.

All of the above names will be probably be turning up for this event too although today is a freezeout compared to 2 maximum reentries which were possible in WCOOP-02. Players can register during the first four hours and 40 minutes of the tournament and will get 100,000 chips in their start stack.

If players choose to sit down during the first level, the blinds will be at 250/500 with a running ante of 60. Level durations are slated to last 20 minutes throughout the 2-day tournament with Day 1 at an end seven hours and 45 minutes after it started. Day 2 will restart on at 7:05 p.m. CEST on Friday, September 4.

As this is a progressive knockout tournament, players will start with a bounty of $500 on their heads. Every time a player is eliminated, 50% of their bounty will go to the bankroll of that player and the other 50% will be added to the bounty on their own head.
