Chouity and Istomin Eliminated

Level 21 : 15,000/30,000, 3,750 ante
Koliakov vs Chouity
Koliakov vs Chouity

Nicolas "niccc" Chouity clashed with table neighbor Sergei "Futti18" Koliakov in a battle of the blinds and was the player at risk in a pot of more than 1.4 million.

Nicolas "niccc" Chouity: {a-Spades}{q-Spades}
Sergei "Futti18" Koliakov: {9-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}

The board ran out {j-Clubs}{10-Spades}{5-Diamonds}{2-Hearts}{5-Clubs} and that spelled the end for Chouity.

Fellow countryman Aleksei "laallaala" Istomin was not as fortunate as Koalikov and lost the remainder of his short stack in a preflop flip.

Aleksei "laallaala" Istomin: {5-Diamonds}{5-Spades}
"SantaZzz": {k-Clubs}{j-Clubs}

Istomin remained ahead on the {8-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}{3-Clubs} flop and {10-Diamonds} turn but the {k-Hearts} struck on the river.

Weenink Hits the Rail

Level 21 : 15,000/30,000, 3,750 ante

Following a raise to 61,500 by "milennial" in the hijack, Jochum "groengras" Weenink three-bet jammed for the last 354,243 on the button and was called by the initial raiser.

Jochum "groengras" Weenink: {q-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds}
"milennial": {a-Hearts}{10-Spades}

The {a-Clubs}{k-Clubs}{8-Diamonds} board gave "milennial" top pair while Weenink had a gutshot and back door diamonds. All but three outs vanished on the {9-Hearts} turn and the {2-Diamonds} river was not significant anymore.

Volkmann Gets Short and Busts

Level 21 : 15,000/30,000, 3,750 ante

Bruno "great dant" Volkmann limp-raised to 210,000 out of the small blind and was called by "vladxxxro" in the big blind. Volkmann bet the {a-Diamonds}{6-Spades}{2-Hearts} flop for 51,100 and the {10-Hearts} turn for 120,000, both of which his opponent called. They checked the {6-Hearts} river and Volkmann tabled {q-Hearts}{7-Spades} for a bluff, "vladxxxro" won the pot with the {k-Diamonds}{k-Clubs}.

The Romanian won the next bigger pot on the table and Volkmann then jammed the last 11 blinds from the cutoff, which "Ahhh Is It?! called in the big blind.

Bruno "great dant" Volkmann: {7-Hearts}{7-Spades}
"Ahhh Is It?": {a-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}

The {a-Hearts}{9-Spades}{8-Clubs}{j-Spades}{9-Clubs} board gave the Brit superior two pair and Volkmann was eliminated.

"Maz&Yauskas" Hits the Rail

Level 21 : 15,000/30,000, 3,750 ante

The number of eliminations continues at the same speed and barely any minute passes without any seat open.

Latest casualty was the UK's "Maz&Yauskas" who got it in from the small blind with the {a-Clubs}{8-Clubs}. Button raiser "nicofellow" called with {9-Hearts}{8-Hearts} and nailed the {9-Spades}{9-Clubs}{4-Diamonds} flop, the {3-Spades} turn and {8-Diamonds} river were a formality.

Marty "TheLipoFund" Mathis opened to 66,000 from the under-the-gun position and "nnhheeoo" then three-bet to 235,000 with 118 chips behind from two seats over. Mathis responded with a reraise and their opponent called all-in.

"nnhheeoo": {2-Spades}{2-Clubs}
Marty "TheLipoFund" Mathis: {k-Clubs}{k-Diamonds}

The {a-Hearts}{4-Clubs}{3-Spades}{4-Hearts}{10-Clubs} board delivered no upset and the table broke after as the field dropped below 350 remaining contenders.

There were just five players left near the end of Day 2 of Event #15-M of the 2020 World Championship of Online Poker at PokerStars, a $55+R no-limit hold’em eight-handed tournament.

Brazilian player Matheus “MathCamillo1” Camillo had enjoyed a great couple of days of poker to that point. He had built a big stack on Day 1, made it to the final table bubble on Day 2 where he won a big all-in, and was fifth in chips to start the FT.

A little while after that there were just five left out of 5,450 total entries (including re-entries). And coincidentally, Camillo was down to just five big blinds.

“I was just folding and hoping to find a favorable situation,” explains Camillo. “But the favorable situation never came.”

“That’s when I put on my lucky song… Snoop Dogg‘s ‘Riders on the Storm.'”
