Talbot Hits Turn to Double

Level 24 : 200,000/400,000, 50,000 ante

The last remaining Team Pokerstars Player Parker "tonkaaaa" Talbot shoved in his 3,137,344 stack from the button after an 836,000 open from "johnyguedes1" in middle position. "johnyguedes1" called and hands were revealed.

"johnyguedes1": {10-Spades}{10-Diamonds}
Parker "tonkaaaa" Talbot: {a-Clubs}{j-Diamonds}

The players were flipping and Talbot needed help on the {5-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}{5-Spades} flop. Then the {j-Hearts} turn came to vault Talbot into the lead, and the {7-Diamonds} completed the board, giving him a needed double up.

"Killuckkk" Eliminated in 26th Place ($3,432)

Level 24 : 200,000/400,000, 50,000 ante

"977sanek977" opened to 820,000 in middle position and "Killuckkk" jammed his stack. "977sanek977" called for 10,295,713 and was barely covered.

"977sanek977": {a-Diamonds}{k-Diamonds}
"Killuckkk": {a-Hearts}{q-Hearts}

After eliminating someone else only a few hands prior, "Killuckkk" needed some help. The {j-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}{6-Spades} flop gave him some chop outs. But the {10-Clubs} turn and {9-Hearts} river have the pot to "977sanek977" and left "Killuckkk" crippled.

Two hands later, "Killuckkk" got his last chips in with {k-Clubs}{7-Clubs} against the {a-Clubs}{k-Spades} of "benyie" and was eliminated as the board ran out {3-Spades}{5-Spades}{2-Hearts} {10-Diamonds} {6-Clubs}.

"bruna_bsb" Eliminated in 27th Place ($2,401)

Action folded to "Killuckkk" in the cutoff who opened to 700,000 and
"bruna_bsb" three-bet to 2.8 million in the small blind. "Killuckkk" put all his chips in and "bruna_bsb" called for his last 1,281,274.

"bruna_bsb": {a-Spades}{q-Hearts}
"Killuckkk": {k-Clubs}{k-Diamonds}

"bruna_bsb" was at risk and was behind on the {10-Hearts}{5-Spades}{k-Spades} flop. He was looking for a jack and was dead on the {5-Clubs} turn and the meaningless {8-Hearts} came on the river, as "bruna_bsb" becomes the first out on this Day 2.

Daniel Smiljkovic
Daniel Smiljkovic

The final day of WCOOP-01-H: $109 NLHE [Phase 2], $1M Gtd will begin at 2:05 p.m. EST, and by the end of the day, there will be a winner crowned. The total prize pool of $1,283,400 was amassed by 12,834 entries from all Phases. Only 27 players continue to play today, and action will start in level 23 at 175,000/350,000 with a 45,000 ante. The average stack to start Day 2 is just under 12 million which translates to about 34 big blinds.

Leading the hunt for the bracelet is Norway’s ”Laddien”. They claimed the Day 1 chip lead with 27,139,945 chips and will have around 78 big blinds to continue their run in the beginning of Day 2. Rounding out the top three stacks are "CBon's 72" (23,850,611) and Gabriel "aaurelio" Moura (23,645,740).

Also contending for the win are WSOP bracelet winner Daniel "SmilleThHero" Smiljkovic (20,903,816) and poker streamer and Team PokerStars Player Parker "tonkaaaa" Talbot (2,687,344), who will have his work cut out for him as the short stack. Interestingly, each of these two players won a WCOOP event less than a week ago, and within mere hours of each other. Smiljkovic took down WCOOP 75-M: $530 NLHE [8-Max, Midweek Freeze], and Talbot claimed victory in WCOOP-75-H: $5,200 NLHE [8-Max, Midweek Freeze], with each having won their title on Sept. 9.
