The 2021 World Championship of Online Poker (WCOOP) roared ahead on Thursday at PokerStars with the WCOOP 51-H: $2,100 Thursday Thrill attracting 480 entries for a $960,000 prize pool to smash to $800,000 guarantee by 20 percent.

The action was down to just 62 hopefuls by the end of the day, each of whom will advance to Day 2 just making the money with a $2,138 min-cash in their pocket along with any bounties collected along the way.

Brazil's Eduardo "Eduardo850" Silva will advance to Day 2 as the chip leader after winning a massive pot with Broadway for the nuts near the end of the day when his opponent was betting into him the entire way.

Jon "apestyles" Van Fleet is just behind Silva and he also ended the day on a high note after ousting "LoosControl" one away from the bubble.

Just behind this duo is Brazil's "Eleres88", who eliminated "flerrehuve" on the final hand of the day when his ace-queen got there against big slick. "fierrehuve" still made the money in 63rd place as "dBlock32" was out on the bubble at the same time on a different table when their ace-seven suited didn't get there against the tens held by Jargo "bungakat" Alavali.

Conor "1_conor_b_1" Beresford, Ilya "thienlao21" Korobkin, and Markku "markovitsus" Koplimaa were also among the players to bag big one Day 1.

Six PokerStars Ambassadors got into the action on Day 1. Lex "L. Veldhuis" Veldhuis and newly annoited PokerStars Team Pro Rafael "GM_VALTER" Moraes fired the three maximum bullets only to come up empty while Felix "xflixx" Schneiders had the same result with two bullets and both Fintan "easywithaces" Hand and Parker "tonkaaaa" Talbot failed to find a bag after firing a single bullet.

Things went better for Ben "Spraggy" Spragg who was the sole PokerStars Ambassador to advance to Day 2 with at least a min-cash in hand, although he will enter Day 2 with one of the shorter stacks of 796,810.

Final Day Schedule

The 62 surviving players will have a day off before the action resumes on Saturday, Sept. 4 at 5:05 p.m. GMT. The blinds will resume with the remainder of Level 17 (17,500/35,000/4,500a) and increase every 25 minutes until a winner is crowned.
