After only five hours of play on the virtual felt, Luis "luis_faria" Faria holds a commanding chip lead in the $10,300 NLH World Championship of Online Poker (WCOOP) Main Event on PokerStars. Day 3 saw 39 surviving players from a field of 760 play down to the final nine and they will return on Wednesday, November 9 at 5:30 GMT to battle for the lion’s share of a $7,600,000 prize pool.

Faria came into the day as the chip leader and stayed in the top part of the leaderboard for most of it. In the final hand Faria's ace-jack out-kicked the king-jack for "DingeBrinker" to send them out on the final table bubble and skyrocket his stack to 46,185,847, good for 132 big blinds.

The Portugal native has an impressive poker resume and is no stranger to these spots. With over $800,000 in live tournament earnings according to The Hendon Mob, Faria will look to close out Day 4 with the title and best his previous all-time biggest score of $213,561.

Day 3 Action

The action was fast and furious to start the day with 15 eliminations within only one hour of play. Chris "Moorman1" Moorman was one of the unfortunate players to hit the rail early on when his kings fell short to the flopped ace for "kZhh", sending Moorman out in 28th place.

It only took less than two hours to go from 27 players down to the final 16. "Musa8887" picked up pocket jacks and moved in for roughly eight big blinds and was called by "SerVlaMin" who held king-queen. When the board fanned out a queen it was the end of the road for "Musa8887" in 17th place.

A short while later Alexandru "steakaddict." Papazian found himself short and moved all in with ace-jack against the pocket eights for "boerni21". The two were off to the races but when the board ran out nine-high the dream was over for Papazian as he finished in 13th place for $82,277.
