The 2023 Winter Potomac Poker Open is now in full swing, having crowned five winners already in its 16 event schedule. Today, Event #6: $400 Monster Triple Stack is on the cards. Back in 2020 (the last time the Potomac Winter Poker Open was held) Sachin Joshi came out on top of a 261-strong field in this event to secure a $25,005 first placed prize. All those taking their seat today will hope to emulate that result.
Play will begin at 11 a.m. local time, at which time those who register will receive 75,000 in tournament chips. Blinds will start at 100/100 with a 100 big blind ante and increase at intervals of 30-minutes for the duration of the tournament. This is a two day event with day 1 continuing until the end of Level 22. In addition, late registration and unlimited re-entries are allowed until the conclusion of Level 15.
Day 2 will resume on Wednesday, February 1st at 12 p.m. and at that time play will continue until a winner is crowned.

Barry Fleischman opened to 600 from under the gun and was three-bet to 1,200 by a player in middle position. Action folded back around to Fleischman who made the call to see a flop heads-up.

turn at which point Fleischman checked for a second time. His opponent fired a delayed continuation of 2,600 which Fleischman called.
The
river saw Fleischman take over the betting lead, pushing 7,000 into the middle. The middle position player quickly called and tabled ![]()
. It was no good, however, as Fleischman flipped over ![]()
for the ace-high flush to scoop a sizable pot early in the day.

Marshall Roof, who recently finished as runner-up in Event #1: $400 Mystery Bounty, limped from late position and was called by Mohammed-Ali Tadjer on the button as well as the small blind with the big blind checking their option.

and he continued for 1,100. That forced folds from Tadjer and the small blind but the big blind decided to call.

river at which point the big blind checked for a third time. Roof, not prepared to go to showdown, fired off 2,200 and was promptly called. 'You're good' Roof said as he turned over ![]()

. Mitich responded by moving all in for around 60,000 into a pot of around 30,000. His opponent went deep into the tank, pondering his decision for several minutes. Eventually another player at the table called the clock and without much further delay, the middle position player folded.
