Welcome to Day 2 of Event #1:$400 Mystery Bounty

Sheldon Poe
Sheldon Poe

After six starting flights that attracted a total of 2,457 entries, day 2 of Event #1: $400 Mystery Bounty at the Potomac Winter Poker Open has finally arrived. With just 8% of the initial field left, 193 players will retake their seat today to play down to a winner.

Currently leading the day 1 survivors is Sheldon Poe of the United States with a whopping 976,000. Day 1d chip leader Aaron Wright sits second in chips with 952,000 while day 1b chip leader Shouyi Gao (920,000) rounds out the top three.

Although the final payouts have not yet been released, with a field of this size the top prize is sure to be a healthy one. For those players unable to make a deep run on day 2, there is still plenty of value to be had with the mystery bounty element of the tournament coming into play. Every player will now collect a mystery bounty receipt each time they eliminate an opponent. That receipt could be worth anywhere from $50 to $25,000.

Nbatu Cuts Down Britton

Level 19 : Blinds 8,000/16,000, 16,000 ante
Emmanuel Nbatu
Emmanuel Nbatu

Picking up the action on the flop with the board reading {9-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}{q-Spades}, Alex Britton in late position had a bet of 150,000 in front of him and was facing an all in for around 400,000 from Emmanuel Nbatu in middle position. Nbatu's jam sent Britton deep into the tank but eventually he decided to call with the covering stack to put Nbatu at risk.

Emmanuel Nbatu: {9-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}
Alex Britton: {j-Spades}{j-Clubs}

Nbatu had outflopped Britton's jacks and was in excellent position to take down a massive pot. The {2-Hearts} turn changed nothing with the {k-Diamonds} river securing the win for Nbatu.

Petro Ousts Kachittavong

Level 20 : Blinds 10,000/20,000, 20,000 ante
Soukha Kachittavong
Soukha Kachittavong

Soukha Kachittavong opened to 40,000 from under the gun and was three-bet to 100,000 by Morgan Petro one seat over. Action folded back around to Kachittavong, who decided to call.

Kachittavong checked to Petro on a flop of {7-Clubs}{6-Clubs}{9-Clubs} and he continued for 80,000. After some thought, Kachittavong opted to call.

The {8-Clubs} turn put four to a straight as well as a flush on the board but that did not seem to bother Kachittavong as he moved all in. Petro instantly called with the covering stack to put Kachittavong at risk.

Soukha Kachittavong: {a-Spades}{q-Clubs}
Morgan Petro: {a-Clubs}{q-Diamonds}

Kachittavong was drawing dead to a chop but found no help on the {10-Spades} river to bring his tournament to a close. Petro, meanwhile, is now among the chip leaders thanks to the large pot.

Martin Scores Double Knockout

Level 21 : Blinds 12,000/24,000, 24,000 ante
Mark Martin
Mark Martin

A player opened to 50,000 from early position before a player in middle position moved all in. Action then folded around to Mark Martin on the button and he opted to re-jam his large stack. The small blind called off for their tournament life while the original raiser folded to setup a three-way all in.

Small Blind Player: {q-Hearts}{3-Hearts}
Middle Position Player: {8-Spades}{8-Hearts}
Mark Martin: {a-Spades}{a-Clubs}

Martin held a commanding lead over both of his opponents and was in a decent position to get the double knockout and two mystery bounty tickets. Nothing changed on the {10-Hearts}{4-Clubs}{7-Clubs} flop or the {5-Clubs} turn with the {7-Spades} river completing a clean runout for the pocket rockets.

Hunter Jenkins

Thomas Perkins opened to 200,000 from under the gun and was called by Hunter Jenkins one seat over as well as David Lee in middle position and Chris Harrell out of the big blind.

Both Harrell and Perkins checked on a flop of {5-Clubs}{k-Diamonds}{8-Clubs} prompting Jenkins to move all in for around 1,500,000. Lee thought for some time before re-jamming as Harrell and Perkins quickly folded.

Hunter Jenkins: {k-Hearts}{q-Hearts}
David Lee: {5-Hearts}{5-Spades}

Jenkins was way behind and left drawing dead following the {3-Spades} turn. The {10-Diamonds} river was a mere formality as Jenkins headed towards the payout desk.

David Lee
David Lee

As players were leaving for the dinner break, David Lee decided to redeem one of his mystery bounty tickets. Lee had already locked up $20,000 by drawing two of the three $10,000 bounties earlier in the day. Lady luck appears to be smiling down on Lee today as he somehow managed to pull the $25,000 top bounty to bring his total up to $45,000.

Frankie Greever moved all in from early position and was called by Sheldon Poe one seat over. The remaining players got out of the way and Greever was officially at risk.

Frankie Greever: {9-Spades}{7-Spades}
Sheldon Poe: {k-Hearts}{q-Spades}

Greever, though behind, did have two live cards but failed to hit on the {6-Diamonds}{k-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}{7-Clubs}{2-Spades} runout, sending him to the exits in 20th place. A few minutes before Greever's elimination, Alex Britton was seen exiting the tournament area.

Mark Martin moved all in for his last 1,265,000 from early position and action folded around to Marshall Roof in the big blind who instantly called.

Mark Martin: {5-Hearts}{5-Clubs}
Marshall Roof: {j-Spades}{j-Hearts}

'I'm crushed' remarked Martin before the board ran out {9-Diamonds}{6-Spades}{q-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}{k-Diamonds} to send him out in 18th place. Elsewhere, Joshua Sechman was seen heading to the payout desk.

Thomas Perkins

Chris Harrell opened to 300,000 from middle position and Thomas Perkins moved all in from late position. Action folded back around to Harrell who quickly called with the larger stack.

Thomas Perkins: {10-Spades}{10-Clubs}
Chris Harrell: {a-Hearts}{a-Clubs}

Harrell was way ahead and Perkins had one foot out of the door following the {6-Clubs}{4-Diamonds}{3-Spades} flop. The {3-Clubs} turn and {j-Spades} river did not change matters, sending Perkins to the rail in 16th place. Earlier, Besnik Biberaj was seen heading to the exits and just after Perkins' bustout, Ryan Kirkpatrick was eliminated in 15th place.
