Petro Ousts Kachittavong

Level 20 : Blinds 10,000/20,000, 20,000 ante
Soukha Kachittavong
Soukha Kachittavong

Soukha Kachittavong opened to 40,000 from under the gun and was three-bet to 100,000 by Morgan Petro one seat over. Action folded back around to Kachittavong, who decided to call.

Kachittavong checked to Petro on a flop of {7-Clubs}{6-Clubs}{9-Clubs} and he continued for 80,000. After some thought, Kachittavong opted to call.

The {8-Clubs} turn put four to a straight as well as a flush on the board but that did not seem to bother Kachittavong as he moved all in. Petro instantly called with the covering stack to put Kachittavong at risk.

Soukha Kachittavong: {a-Spades}{q-Clubs}
Morgan Petro: {a-Clubs}{q-Diamonds}

Kachittavong was drawing dead to a chop but found no help on the {10-Spades} river to bring his tournament to a close. Petro, meanwhile, is now among the chip leaders thanks to the large pot.

Sechman Cracks Aces

Level 20 : Blinds 10,000/20,000, 20,000 ante

Picking up the action partway through the hand, Joshua Sechman in the cutoff was all in and at risk against a player on the button.

Joshua Sechman: {a-Clubs}{k-Clubs}
Button Player: {a-Diamonds}{a-Spades}

Sechman was in dire straits, being on the wrong end of a nasty cooler and needing significant help to survive. None was forthcoming on the {q-Spades}{8-Hearts}{9-Clubs} flop but the {7-Clubs} turn did give him a flush draw. The {2-Clubs} river completed the backdoor draw to keep Sechman alive in the tournament.

Wolfe Makes the Call

Level 20 : Blinds 10,000/20,000, 20,000 ante

A player opened to 42,000 from middle position and received a single call from Christopher Wolfe out of the big blind.

Wolfe checked to the initial raiser on a flop of {9-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}{3-Spades} and the middle position player continued for 35,000. That did not dissuade Wolfe who flatted.

The {4-Clubs} turn saw Wolfe check for a second time and his opponent once more bet, this time sizing up to 115,000. Despite the larger sizing, Wolfe was not going anywhere and made the call.

Wolfe checked for a third time as the {10-Diamonds} completed the board. The middle position player was not prepared to go to a cheap showdown and fired off a third barrel of 200,000. After just a few moments, Wolfe called and tabled {j-Diamonds}{j-Clubs}, good enough to take down a large pot.

Poe Prevails Over Hershey

Level 21 : Blinds 12,000/24,000, 24,000 ante

Action folded around to Sheldon Poe in the small blind who chose to raise to 110,000. Jacob Hershey seemed somewhat confused at the large sizing but did make the call to send the players heads-up to the flop.

Both players checked through the {4-Diamonds}{k-Clubs}{4-Clubs} flop to the {9-Spades} turn at which point Poe checked for a second time. Hershey fired off 60,000 which was promptly called by Poe.

The river came {6-Hearts} and for a third time Poe checked. Hershey was not yet willing to go to showdown, pushing 100,000 into the middle. Poe tossed in a chip to call and tabled {q-Diamonds}{q-Spades}, pipping Hershey's {j-Hearts}{j-Diamonds} to the pot.

Martin Scores Double Knockout

Level 21 : Blinds 12,000/24,000, 24,000 ante
Mark Martin
Mark Martin

A player opened to 50,000 from early position before a player in middle position moved all in. Action then folded around to Mark Martin on the button and he opted to re-jam his large stack. The small blind called off for their tournament life while the original raiser folded to setup a three-way all in.

Small Blind Player: {q-Hearts}{3-Hearts}
Middle Position Player: {8-Spades}{8-Hearts}
Mark Martin: {a-Spades}{a-Clubs}

Martin held a commanding lead over both of his opponents and was in a decent position to get the double knockout and two mystery bounty tickets. Nothing changed on the {10-Hearts}{4-Clubs}{7-Clubs} flop or the {5-Clubs} turn with the {7-Spades} river completing a clean runout for the pocket rockets.

Cohen Survives

Level 21 : Blinds 12,000/24,000, 24,000 ante

Picking up the action partway through the hand, Rob Cohen was all in and at risk from under the gun against a middle position player.

Rob Cohen: {a-Spades}{a-Hearts}
Middle Position Player: {10-Clubs}{10-Spades}

Cohen had once again found pocket rockets and was well placed to double and survive. That is exactly what happened following the {8-Clubs}{2-Spades}{3-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}{5-Clubs} runout to keep Cohen's hopes of victory alive for at least a little longer.

Neiman Leaves Nbatu Short

Level 22 : Blinds 15,000/30,000, 30,000 ante

Phil Neiman moved all in from early position and action folded around to Emmanuel Nbatu in the cutoff who re-jammed his slightly larger stack. The remaining players got out of the way to put Neiman officially at risk.

Phil Neiman: {a-Hearts}{k-Diamonds}
Emmanuel Nbatu: {8-Diamonds}{8-Spades}

Neiman would need to win a flip to survive but surged into a commanding lead following the {5-Clubs}{k-Clubs}{10-Spades} flop. The {9-Hearts} turn and {6-Hearts} river kept him ahead to secure a big double while leaving Nbatu with crumbs.
