Simmons Triples Up

Level 12 : Blinds 1,500/3,000, 3,000 ante

A player in the cutoff limped and was called by the small blind. Baxter Simmons then moved all in for his last 16,000 out of the small blind but, far from discouraging either opponent, was instead faced with two calls.

The two active players in the hand checked through the {3-Clubs}{q-Diamonds}{j-Hearts} flop to the {5-Hearts} turn at which point the small blind led out for 15,000, eliciting a quick fold from the cutoff.

Baxter Simmons: {j-Diamonds}{j-Spades}
Small Blind Player: {a-Spades}{5-Spades}

Simmons held an insurmountable lead with his set of jacks, collecting a big triple up following the meaningless river.

Einsidler Navigates Multiway Pot

Level 12 : Blinds 1,500/3,000, 3,000 ante

A player limped from under the gun, as did a middle position player and the small blind. Izzy Einsidler checked his option out of the big blind to send the four players to the flop.

Action checked to the middle position player on a flop of {9-Spades}{5-Spades}{q-Clubs} and he continued for 7,000. The small blind and under the gun players folded while Einsidler called to send action heads-up to the turn.

Both players checked through the {k-Diamonds} turn to the {q-Hearts} river. Einsidler was not willing to go to showdown just yet, betting out 10,000, which was met with a fold.

Tadjer Wins Flip

Level 13 : Blinds 2,000/4,000, 4,000 ante

Action folded to Mohammed-Ali Tadjer in middle position who moved all in for 48,500. A player in the cutoff then re-jammed their slightly larger stack with the button and blinds getting out of the way to put Tadjer at risk.

Mohammed-Ali Tadjer: {a-Hearts}{10-Spades}
Cutoff Player: {8-Hearts}{8-Clubs}

Tadjer was flipping for his tournament life, needing to hit to survive. He nailed the {a-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}{2-Clubs} flop, with nothing changing on the {k-Spades} turn or {5-Clubs} river to send a big pot his direction while leaving the cutoff player with just a few thousand.

Confusion Gifts Phelps Double

Level 13 : Blinds 2,000/4,000, 4,000 ante
Dean Phelps
Dean Phelps

Dean Phelps moved all in for around 50,000 from middle position and was called by the player on the button. It quickly transpired, however, that the player on the button believed he was only calling a limp or perhaps a small raise. Given that he had tossed a chip into the middle, the ruling was clear and the call of the all in stood.

Button Player: {j-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}
Dean Phelps: {a-Hearts}{5-Hearts}

Phelps, though ahead, did not hold a dominant lead over his opponent, needing to fade two live cards. The {3-Hearts}{8-Spades}{2-Hearts} did give him a wheel and flush draw to take away some of his opponent's outs before the {7-Clubs} turn vaulted the button player into the lead. Needing to hit a four, heart or ace on the river to avoid elimination in one of the more sickening ways imaginable, he was able to do just that as the {k-Hearts} rolled off the deck.

Two Barrels Good For Brooks

Level 14 : Blinds 2,500/5,000, 5,000 ante

A player limped from under the gun as did Shawn Brooks from middle position. The small blind called and the big blind checked to send action four-handed to the flop.

Action checked to Brooks following the {j-Spades}{8-Hearts}{7-Diamonds} flop and he led out for 12,000. Both blinds folded while the under-the-gun player called.

The under-the-gun player checked for a second time on the {3-Diamonds} turn before folding when faced with a 21,000 bet from Brooks.

Ter-Gabrielyan Builds Massive Stack

Level 14 : Blinds 2,500/5,000, 5,000 ante

Erik Ter-Gabrielyan opened to 12,000 from middle position and was faced with an all in for 67,500 from the small blind. After some consideration he made the call to put his opponent at risk.

Small Blind Player: {a-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}
Erik Ter-Gabrielyan: {a-Hearts}{10-Hearts}

Ter-Gabrielyan had his opponent dominated and was in a good spot to scoop a large pot. The {q-Clubs}{9-Spades}{j-Clubs} flop further cemented his lead with the {k-Diamonds} turn ending affairs prior to the inconsequential {8-Hearts} river.
