Phelps Chips Up

Level 15 : Blinds 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante

Dean Phelps opened to 13,000 and was called by the player one seat over. The remaining players folded to send action heads-up to the flop.

Both players checked through the {7-Diamonds}{a-Spades}{8-Hearts} flop to the {7-Clubs} turn at which point Phelps led out for 15,000. That bet was enough to convince his opponent to release their holding, sending a small pot Phelps' way.

Chan Loses Small One

Level 15 : Blinds 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante

A player limped from early position and action folded around to Tony Chan in the big blind, who checked his option.

Chan led out for 8,000 on a monotone flop of {k-Spades}{9-Spades}{10-Spades} and was called by his opponent.

The {6-Spades} turn put four spades on the board and saw Chan slowdown, checking before folding to a bet of 12,000.

Liddell Surges

Level 16 : Blinds 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante

Picking up the action partway through preflop proceedings, James Liddell moved all in from under the gun for 151,000. His sole opponent in the small blind had a bet of 66,000 in front of him and was considering the call with a slightly larger stack. After several minutes the small blind did make the call to put Liddell at risk.

James Liddell: {a-Spades}{k-Clubs}
Small Blind Player: {j-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}

Liddell was a favourite to double up and did just that after the board ran out {4-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}{5-Spades}{6-Spades}{a-Clubs} to push his stack north of the 300,000 mark.

Ter-Gabrielyan Loses Some

Level 16 : Blinds 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante

Erik Ter-Gabrielyan opened to 16,000 from middle position only to see a player on the button move all in for their last 42,000. Action folded back around to Ter-Gabrielyan who quickly called to put his opponent at risk.

Ter-Gabrielyan: {a-Clubs}{6-Hearts}
Button Player: {k-Spades}{k-Hearts}

Ter-Gabrielyan would need to come from behind to eliminate his opponent but only fell further behind on the {10-Clubs}{q-Spades}{j-Diamonds} flop, which removed one of his immediate outs. No help came on the {4-Diamonds} turn or {5-Diamonds} river, putting a small dent in Ter-Gabrielyan's still large stack.

Dickstein Gets Fold

Level 17 : Blinds 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante

Mark Dickstein opened to 20,000 from under the gun and received a call from the big blind.

The big blind checked to the initial raiser on a flop of {4-Spades}{2-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds} and Dickstein continued for 15,000. His opponent was not prepared to go away just yet and made the call.

Action was once again checked to Dickstein following the {10-Clubs} turn and he responded by firing off another bet. The chips had barely left his hand before the big blind mucked. Dickstein turned over {a-Diamonds}{a-Spades} before raking in his newly acquired chips.
