Day 1e Started
Event #1: $400 Mystery Bounty at the 2023 Potomac Winter Poker Open continues today with day 1e, the fifth of six starting flights.
The first four flights have seen a combined 1,355 entries with just 107 of those players making it through to Day 2. Currently leading the survivors is Aaron Wright of the United States, who bagged a massive 952,000 late last night at the conclusion of day 1d. Other large stacks include day 1b chip leader Shouyi Gao (920,000), Dan Matei (841,000) and Jacob Mitich (806,000).
Play for day 1e is set to begin at 11 a.m. local time. Players taking their seats at that time will start with 25,000 in tournament chips and blinds of 100/100 with a 100 big blind ante. Levels throughout the day will be 30 minutes in length and late registration will remain open until level 12. The money bubble will burst once 10% of the field remains and play will only conclude when 8% of the initial runners are left. Those who make it into the money but bust on Day 1 will receive a flat $500.
The mystery bounty portion of the tournament does not come into play until Day 2, at which stage every remaining player will be assigned a mystery bounty. At that time, if a player knocks out an opponent, they will receive a mystery bounty ticket, which can be redeemed at the mystery bounty redemption table. Potential prizes range in value from $50 to $25,000.
Day 2 resumes on Sunday, January 29th at 12 p.m. with blind levels increasing to 45 minutes. Play will then continue until a winner is crowned.

Joseph Stevens opened to 400 from early position and received a single caller out of the big blind.
The big blind player checked to the pre-flop aggressor on a flop of and Stevens continued for 500, a bet that was promptly called by his opponent.
Action was once again checked to Stevens following the turn and, again, he decided to bet, this time sizing up to 1,500. Despite the larger sizing, the second barrel was still not enough to shed the big blind, who flatted.
Both players checked on the river and Stevens turned over , good enough to win a small pot early in the day.

Grant Honaker opened to 500 from middle position and was called by the big blind.
Both players checked through the flop to the board pairing turn, at which point the big blind checked for a second time. Honaker decided to fire a delayed continuation of 1,200, which was called.
On the river Honaker accidently bet 5,000 out of turn. After some deliberation, his opponent decided to check before quickly folding to that same bet.
The next hand saw Honaker open to 300 from early position with the player in the cutoff calling. The button then three-bet to 1,100 and the blind got out of the way to send the action back to Honaker, who called. The cutoff folded to generate heads-up action heading to the flop.
Honaker check-called a bet of 1,500 from his opponent on a flop of before folding to a bet of 2,300 following the turn.

Peter Burlimann limped from middle position before the player in the cutoff raised to 600. The big blind called as did Burlimann to send action three-way to the flop.
All three players checked through the flop to the turn at which point the big blind and Burlimann checked for a second time. The cutoff then fired off a bet of 1,100, which was called by both of his opponents.
The same pattern of action took place following the river, with the cutoff this time betting 2,200 and once more receiving two calls. Burlimann turned over for a flush, good enough to best both of his opponents and scoop the pot.
