The crown jewel of the 2026 Potomac Summer Poker Open kicks off today with Day 1a of the $3,000 Main Event.
Championship hopefuls will descend on the MGM National Harbor at 11 a.m. local time for the first of two starting flights. They’ll all be chasing a piece of the $750,000 guaranteed prize pool and the prestige that comes from taking home the title.
Players begin with a 60,000 starting stack. Levels will be 45 minutes on Day 1, and then be extended to 60 minutes beginning on Day 2. There is a break after every three levels and a one-hour dinner break after Level 9. Late registration remains open until the start of Level 13. The schedule calls for 15 levels to be played today.

Day 1b begins tomorrow at 11 a.m. All surviving players then return for Day 2 on August 16 at noon to play down to a final table. The final table will then be played on August 17 beginning at 1 p.m.
This tournament featured a talent-packed field last year, when Robert Anderson beat out 377 players to earn $211,915. Lucas Vergara finished runner-up, while Nicholas Verderamo also made a run to the final table. Justin Arnwine, Carlos Chadha, Casey Hatmaker, Ashley Frank, and Brian Altman also cashed but fell short of the final table.
