Aspiring hopefuls will get one final shot to chase the trophy when Day 1b of the Potomac Summer Poker Open $3,000 Main Event begins at 11 a.m. local time.
The last starting flight will see a flock of players descend on the MGM National Harbor, hoping to secure a spot on Day 2 and try to earn a piece of the $750,000 guaranteed prize pool.
Players on Day 1b begin with a 60,000 starting stack, and levels will be 45 minutes throughout the day. There is a break after every three levels, and a 60-minute dinner break at the end of Level 9. Late registration remains open for the first 12 levels. The schedule calls for 15 levels to be played today.

Yesterday’s opening flight had 100 total entries, with 20 players making it through to Day 2. David Van Noy ended up as chip leader with 655,000, just ahead of two-time WSOP bracelet winner Justin Liberto (638,000). Ed Hill (495,000) rounded out the podium, while Casey Hatmaker (351,000), Samuel Rosen (325,000), Ari Katz (325,000), Nicholas Verderamo (247,000), Faraz Jaka (186,000), and Christian Harder (151,000) also survived the day.
Day 1b is expected to be much bigger than that, and the poker room should be packed throughout the day. All surviving players combine for Day 2 tomorrow at noon.
