Rick Aasen will have a chance for another trophy at the Potomac Summer Poker Open as he and 28 others secured a spot in the money on Day 1b of the $500 Monumental Stack.
Shahab Shirazi ended up as the overall chip leader with 2,200,000. He was followed by Jong Han (1,740,000) and Edward Tufarelli (1,485,000), while Aasen, who already won the $400 T.O.R.S.E. event a few days ago, finished in fourth place on the leaderboard with 1,465,000. Others through to Day 2 include Timothy Conrow (1,395,000), Andrew Touchette (1,115,000), Matt Mullins (1,105,000), and rubber duck enthusiast Dennis Backhaus (735,000).

A total of 225 players joined the second starting flight, bringing the field up to 403 total entries. Just 52 will return to the MGM National Harbor tomorrow for Day 2 at 11 a.m local time. The action picks up on Level 23 with blinds of 20,000/40,000 and a 40,000 big blind ante. Levels will be extended to 40 minutes, and the plan is to play down to a winner.
