$125 8-Game Stud Club Championship
Day 1 Started
Welcome back to the Peppermill Resort Hotel and the 2016 Run It Up Reno festival hosted by Jason Somerville for Event 12: $125 8-Game Stud Club Championship!
Mixed games have slowly been gaining momentum over the past few years in both cash game and tournament format. Downstairs in the poker room this week there has been a constant of mixed games at varying levels, and now the players that have frequented those will be able to put their skills into practice in the only mixed game tournament here at Run It Up Reno.
The Stud Club Championship will be an 8-game mix consisting of H.O.R.S.E., No-Limit Hold'em, Pot-Limit Omaha, and 2-7 Triple Draw, and like the Mix-Max from earlier today, it is another new event on the schedule.
The PokerNews Live Reporting Team will be on the floor providing updates from 8:00 p.m. PDT of all the 8-Game Stud Club Championship action here from Run It Up Reno.
PokerNews has activated the MyStack App for this event, allowing you to directly adjust your chip counts in our live reporting blog using your iPhone or Android phone.
You can download the app for iPhone or Android now to get started. Then, create a new PokerNews account or update your current one to start updating your status immediately. Your followers can see all the live action that you're involved in.

The cards are in the air for the 8-Game Stud Championship with limits at 100/200!
Players will begin with 10,000 in tournament chips and endure 20-minute levels with the registration and re-entry period ending after level 9 (approximately 11:10 p.m. PDT).
With Day 1b of the Main Event nearing the end of the day, and a turbo Day 1c flight starting at 9:00 p.m. PDT, the majority of our focus will be on those two events as well as the ending of the Mix-Max, so feel free to take full advantage of the MyStack App.

Jason Somerville just busted Kevin Gerhart in a preflop all in during the PLO round. Somerville had and made a straight against what looked like that Gerhart raised on the button.
Meanwhile, Brent Harrington occupies that same table and appears to be the chip leader by quite a bit at this juncture.
