Jeanne David Eliminated in 6th Place ($450)

Level 11 : 4,000/8,000, 0 ante

Jeanne David was all in for a very short stack in the small blind and Derek Gomez (button) and Deb Swift (big blind) checked down a board of {3-Clubs}{a-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds}{5-Clubs} until Gomez fired the river for 25,000. Swift folded what she said was a set, and Gomez showed {j-Hearts}{j-Diamonds}{7-Spades}{7-Hearts}{6-Spades} for the nut straight.

Douglas Charles Eliminated in 7th Place ($300)

Level 11 : 4,000/8,000, 0 ante

Douglas Charles was on his third final table of the series, but after third-place and fourth-place finishes, he booked a seventh here in the five-card PLO event. On a {3-Hearts}{2-Spades}{10-Diamonds} flop, he got his stack in with a hand containing queens in a blind battle against Jerry White, who had {k-Clubs}{k-Diamonds}{a-Hearts}{8-Hearts}{7-Hearts}. The turn was a {k-Hearts} and the river a {5-Diamonds}, and White, who had already doubled on a previous hand, now finds himself flush with chips.

Honeycutt Sends Lead to Swift

Level 10 : 3,000/6,000, 0 ante

Jon Honeycutt opened to 15,000 and called a three-bet to 54,000 from Deb Swift, who was on the button. Honeycutt checked the {a-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds}{2-Spades} flop, and Swift instantly potted. Honeycutt tanked a couple of minutes but released, saying he had jacks.

"Someone Else is Going to Have to Take it This Year"

Jason Somerville
Jason Somerville

Those were the words of Jason Somerville, who just busted out in 10th place. He was the champ of this event last year but despite a spirited defense, he will fall short of two straight.

On the bright side, he does have one thing going for him: he has cashed in all three PLO events in Run It Up Reno history.
