Faulkner Busts to Nguyen But Promptly Re-Enters

Level 3 : 200/300, 300 ante

Shirin Oskooi, from two seasons of Survivor fame, raised to 600 from early position and Michael Faulkner moved all in for 6,300 next to act. When action reached Anthony Nguyen in the small blind he called, which prompted Oskooi to get out of the way.

Faulkner: {a-Spades}{k-Diamonds}
Nguyen: {9-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}

It was a flip but not after the {8-Diamonds}{9-Spades}{2-Hearts} flop gave Nguyen a set and left Faulkner drawing dead. The meaningless {q-Spades} was run out on the turn followed by the {10-Spades} on the river, and Faulkner headed for the registration desk to fire another bullet.

Jarvis Sets Up a Foe

Level 3 : 200/300, 300 ante

The UTG player limped in, as did the UTG+1 player and Evan Jarvis on the button, before Carlos Pal raised to 1,900 from the small blind. All three limpers called.

Action checked to the UTG+1 player on a {8-Spades}{q-Spades}{6-Clubs} flop, and she bet 5,000. Jarvis jammed for 13,900, and action folded back to the UTG+1 player. She thought for a moment, then settled on a call.

Jarvis: {8-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}
Opponent: {q-Clubs}{j-Clubs}

Jarvis got a scare when the {4-Clubs} turn gave his opponent a flush draw, but the {q-Hearts} river left him with a full house and the winner.

McGurk's Full House Gets Paid

Level 3 : 200/300, 300 ante

Chris Horter raised to 800 from UTG+1, and the hijack called. Paul McGurk three-bet to 2,200 on the button, and only Horter called.

On the {3-Hearts}{k-Diamonds}{j-Spades} flop, Horter checked, and McGurk bet 2,200. Horter called.

Both players checked the {3-Clubs} turn, and Horter checked the {k-Spades} river. McGurk bet 4,000.

Horter grimaced, then said, "Not a fan of that river...would you bet queens? I think you would. It makes this not such a great spot." He eventually called, and McGurk tabled {a-Diamonds}{k-Hearts}. Horter showed Cat Valdes his hand before mucking, and she said, "Ace-jack, that makes sense."

McCormick Reverse Jinxes Himself

Level 2 : 100/200, 200 ante
Donnie McCormick in earlier action

Donnie McCormick, who earlier this week won the $235 Black Chip Bounty event for $5,060 plus a whopping nineteen $100 bounties, raised to 800 from the lojack, and the hijack three-bet to 2,000. McCormick four-bet shoved for 7,500 and the hijack called.

McCormick: {7-Spades}{7-Diamonds}
Opponent: {a-Diamonds}{j-Clubs}

"Good luck everyone!" McCormick said before the flop could fall. The {10-Clubs}{7-Hearts}{2-Spades} flop was lucky for McCormick, as he spiked a set and a big lead. He improved to an unbeatable full house on the {10-Spades} turn, and the {j-Diamonds} river was too little, too late for his opponent, who paid off the double.

Adin Cota in earlier action

A player raised to 600 on the button, and Adin Cota, who shipped the $1,100 Thursday Thrilla for $20,400 plus twelve $500 bounties, called in the small blind.

Cota checked a {k-Spades}{a-Spades}{9-Diamonds} over to his opponent, who bet 1,000. Cota called.

The {7-Spades} fell on the turn, and Cota checked again. The button bet 1,600, and Cota woke up with a check-raise to 3,700. The button thought for a moment, then tossed his hand in the muck.

On Friday night, the $125 buy-in, $5,000 guaranteed 6-Max Triple Stud saw 66 entries create a $6,402 prize pool, which was paid out among the top 11 players.

Among those to cash but fall short of the final table were Kyle Anderson (7th - $320), Jimmy Cappucci (8th - $320), Andy Camou (9th - $250), Petr Salzman (10th - $200), and David Scarpetta (11th - $200).
