Hidalgo Hangs in There
Level 1
: Blinds 100/200, 200 ante
This hand was picked up on the turn of a board that read 3♥5♦9♣6♠ with approximately 10,000 already in the middle.
Jack Hidalgo checked it over to David Killian, who bet 4,000 on the turn. Hidalgo made the call.
The 10♥ river led to another check from Hidalgo. Killian followed with a wager of 8,000 on the river. Hidalgo was undeterred and made the call to go to a showdown.
Killian showed 7♦3♦ for a pair of threes and a busted straight draw.
It was no good, as Hidalgo tabled K♥9♠ for a pair of nines to claim the significant pot early.
