Himes Scores Elimination
Level 8
: Blinds 600/1,200, 1,200 ante
Victor Paredes got the action started with a raise to 3,000 from the cutoff. A player on the button opted to go all-in for 26,700 in response. Charles Himes woke up with a hand in the big blind and chose to call, putting the button at risk. Paredes folded to Himes, and the button went to a showdown.
Opponent: K♥Q♦
Charles Himes: A♠K♦
Himes was in a great position to score the knockout, as he had his opponent's hand dominated.
The 2♣J♣8♠ flop did not alter much, as Himes was still in control with two cards to go.
The 7♣ turn was of no consequence, and the 6♥ river completed the board as Himes secured the knockout.
