Cruz Flops it
A player from the cutoff opened to 5,000 before Jose Cruz called on the button. Pat Lyons joined the fray with a call from the big blind.
The 4♦5♦10♦ flop led to a pair of checks before Cruz chose to take the initiative with a bet of 8,000 on the flop. Lyons folded, but the cutoff was still interested in the hand, as he chose to check-raise all-in. Cruz snap-called, putting the cutoff all-in and at risk.
Opponent: A♦7♣
Jose Cruz: 8♦3♦
Cruz showed that he flopped a flush, as his opponent was drawing to a higher flush with two cards to go.
The 6♠ turn kept Cruz ahead, as he had to fade a diamond to secure the knockout.
Cruz would score the elimination when the 4♣ peeled on the river as his opponent failed to find a diamond to stay in contention.
