Murray Gets River Value
Level 12
: Blinds 2,000/4,000, 4,000 ante
A player under the gun opened to 8,000. Brett Murray was the only taker, as he called on the button.
Both players checked the 5♥4♣A♣ flop to usher in the 8♥ turn. The under-the-gun player resumed his betting with a wager of 15,000. Murray called.
The 4♦ river resulted in a check by the player under the gun. Murray swooped in with a bet of 23,000, which put his opponent into the tank. Eventually, his opponent called to go to a showdown.
Murray showed A♦J♣ for a pair of aces, which was good, as his opponent mucked his hand in response.
