Yu Doubles and Notches Knockout
Level 14
: Blinds 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante
A player went all-in for 42,000 from under-the-gun before Michael Yu also shoved for his remaining 55,000 from the hijack. Denis Lee asked for a count from both players before he made the call from the big blind, putting both players at risk.
Opponent: A♥4♦
Michael Yu: J♠J♣
Denis Lee: 7♥7♠
Yu was in the lead with his pocket jacks, and they stayed ahead on the 9♦5♥6♥ flop, but Lee gained some additional outs to score the potential double knockout with a gutshot straight draw.
The 9♠ turn was a welcome sight for Yu as he was one card away from scoring the double and the knockout.
Yu's jacks would improve on the J♥ river to hit a full house.
