Thayer Dispatches of Lee
Level 4
: Blinds 300/500, 500 ante
James Thayer began the hand with an open from the cutoff. Samuel Lee wanted to play for it all, as he went all-in for approximately 17,400. Thayer made the call, putting Lee at risk.
Samuel Lee: A♣J♣
James Thayer: 8♥8♠
Thayer held the slight edge as Lee was looking to hit one of his overcards as they went to a runout.
The 10♦6♥Q♥ flop gave Lee additional outs, as he could hit a king for a straight.
Lee gained more straight outs on the 9♦ turn, but it was not meant to be, as the 2♦ river was a blank that awarded Thayer the pot and eliminated Lee.
