Li Slips by Savage
Level 12
: Blinds 2,000/4,000, 4,000 ante
Brandy Savage opened on the button before Anthony Li shipped it in response for 17,500 from the small blind. Savage obliged with a call. Li was at risk as they went to a showdown.
Anthony Li: Q♦9♦
Brandy Savage: J♥9♠
Li had Savage's hand dominated as they went to a runout. This would prove useful when the flop came 9♣2♣4♦, keeping Li in the lead with his better kicker.
The 3♦ turn was a good card for Li as he now had a flush draw to block one of Savage's outs as they went to the river.
Li secured the double-up when the 8♠ hit the river to stay in contention on Day 1c.
