Curhan Takes Chunk from Thayer
Level 14
: Blinds 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante
James Thayer limped from the small blind before Noah Curhan made it 20,000 out of the big blind.
Thayer made the call and sent them to a flop of J♥3♥9♣, before he checked. Curhan followed with a check.
The 3♦ turn led to a bet of 22,000 from Thayer, but Curhan was not done with the hand and made the call.
Thayer slowed down with a check on the Q♣ river. Curhan took his time before he put out a large bet of 72,000. Thayer went into the tank as he mulled over his decision. Thayer eventually put out a stack of chips for a call, and they went to a showdown.
Curhan tabled 8♥3♣ for trip threes, much to the dismay of Thayer. Thayer showed Q♥10♣ for a flopped straight draw that turned into a pair of queens on the river.
