Fahmy Busts DeAlmeida
A player from early position got the bidding started with an open to 16,000. Will Fahmy made the call from the next seat over. Noah Curhan decided to three-bet to 43,000 in response. Manuel DeAlmeida went all-in for less on the button, which resulted in a fold from the original raiser. Fahmy and Curhan both called to put DeAlmeida at risk, as they played for a side pot.
The 6♦Q♦2♦ flop led to a check from Fahmy. Curhan continued for 45,000 and was called by Fahmy.
Fahmy and Curhan checked down on the 6♣ turn and the 8♠ river to go to a showdown.
Fahmy showed K♣Q♠ for a pair of queens, which was good enough to beat Curhan, who tabled A♥10♥ for ace high.
It was the end of the road for DeAlmeida as he showed J♣J♦ for a pair of jacks and a missed flush draw that would have given him the pot should a diamond have come.
