board. The player called, and an 
paired the board. Both players checked.
"I've got nothing," Battaglia said, tossing 
into the middle.
His opponent squinted at the board.
"You have nothing too?" Battaglia said, his voice rising. "Open-ended?!"
Indeed, the player couldn't beat jack-high, and Battaglia took the pot.
