Welcome to Day 2 of RunGood Poker Series Council Bluffs

Ryan Phan
Ryan Phan

All three starting flights have wrapped up for RunGood Poker Series Council Bluffs, and that means it's time for Day 2, when a champion will be crowned. Forty-nine players have put chips in a bag and will come back to contend for the crown and over $34,000 in first-place prize money, along with a $2,000 Blaycation package to the RunGood Cup Championship.

The leader among them will be Shawn Meyer, who comes back with 350,000 courtesy of a monster aces-over-kings clash late on Day 1b. Other top contenders include Ryan Phan (243,000), Ryan Tepen (176,500), Josh Reichard (154,000), and Stan Schrier (146,000). Phan and Tepen are looking for repeat final table appearances after finishing fifth and 10th, respectively, the last time the tour stopped here at the Horseshoe.

Plays kicks off at Level 14 (2,000/4,000/500) and continues with 45-minute levels until the final table has been reached. At that point, levels move to an hour.

Stay tuned to see who the latest RunGood champion will be.

Edens Pulling Off the Improbable; Manganaro Busted

Level 16 : 3,000/6,000, 1,000 ante
Nick Manganaro
Nick Manganaro

Stan Schrier opened to 15,000 and called a three-bet to 45,000 from Curtis Edens. The flop came {j-Clubs}{5-Spades}{6-Clubs} and Schrier shoved all in. Edens called off his stack of about 40,000 more after thinking briefly.

Edens: {a-Spades}{a-Hearts}
Schrier: {10-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}

Edens held as the {5-Hearts} turned and the {8-Clubs} completed the board. He began the day with just 6,000 but has turned that stack of two big blinds into a solid 185,000.

At another table, Nick Manganaro busted. He said he shoved 13 big blinds over a Michael Sanders open with {a-}{j-} and lost to {q-}{q-}.

Reichard Back to Heaps

Level 17 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante
Josh Reichard
Josh Reichard

We found Josh Reichard leading a three-way preflop all in with {a-Diamonds}{a-Hearts}. Michael Sanders had {j-Spades}{j-Hearts} and David Wintroub had {q-Hearts}{q-Diamonds}. Nobody improved on the community cards, and Reichard busted Wintroub and collected 159,000 from Sanders.

Lodes Eliminated; Meyer Crippled

Level 20 : 8,000/16,000, 3,000 ante
Scott Lodes
Scott Lodes

Thaddeus Wolff opened for a raise and called the shove of Scott Lodes, who had about 270,000.

Lodes: {a-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}
Wolff: {j-Clubs}{j-Hearts}

Lodes took the lead on the {5-Diamonds}{a-Spades}{7-Clubs} flop and he looked set to double after the {8-Clubs} turn. However, Wolff hit the {j-Diamonds} to send Lodes packing.

At the other table, Shawn Meyer three-bet a Matt Sztamburski open and then called when Tim Woodson shipped it for about 470,000.

Meyer: {q-Hearts}{q-Clubs}
Woodson: {a-Clubs}{a-Spades}

The board rolled out {2-Clubs}{2-Spades}{j-Spades}{3-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}, and Meyer has only about 30,000 left as the final table combines.

Tim Woodson Eliminated in 9th Place ($3,590)

Level 22 : 12,000/24,000, 4,000 ante
Tim Woodson - 9th Place
Tim Woodson - 9th Place

Tim Woodson shoved under the gun for about 260,000, and Ryan Tepen called from his immediate left. Everyone else mucked in turn.

Tepen: {k-Diamonds}{k-Spades}
Woodson: {j-Clubs}{j-Spades}

The {10-Clubs}{q-Clubs}{5-Diamonds} flop didn't help Woodson. The {2-Clubs} gave him a flush draw, but the {6-Hearts} river was his ticket to payouts.

Mike Henrich - 8th Place

Josh Reichard opened for 65,000 under the gun and snap-called when Mike Henrich jammed in the big blind for about 350,000.

Reichard: {a-Clubs}{q-Diamonds}
Henrich: {a-Hearts}{9-Hearts}

Reichard had it locked in by the turn as the board ran out {q-Hearts}{8-Spades}{8-Clubs}{6-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}.

Michael Sanders - 6th Place

RunGood Pro Michael Sanders pushed all in from the button and Brandon Fish called for about 270,000 in the small blind with {a-Spades}{5-Hearts}. Sanders had lives with {j-Hearts}{8-Diamonds} and Ryan Tepen said he folded an ace. Nonetheless, neither player hit anything and the ace-high held.

Ryan Tepen - 5th Place

Josh Reichard opened for a raise and Ryan Tepen slid forward a tower of T5,000 chips to three-bet to what looked like 170,000 or so. Thaddeus Wolff moved all in from the big blind and Reichard quickly folded. Tepen didn't seem thrilled but called.

Tepen: {a-Clubs}{k-Clubs}
Wolff: {j-Clubs}{j-Hearts}

The flop came {3-Spades}{6-Spades}{9-Spades}, clean for Wolff. A {3-Diamonds} and {10-Diamonds} river were as well, and the RunGood Pro sent his stack of about 1.1 million to his left.

Reichard: {a-Diamonds}{8-Spades}
