Ellis Doubles in Race

Level 12 : 1,200/2,400, 300 ante

Matt Ellis pushed his last 6,100 in under the gun and got a call from the player on his left.

Ellis: {3-Diamonds}{3-Spades}
Opponent: {a-Clubs}{9-Clubs}

Ellis survived as the community came {6-Spades}{k-Diamonds}{j-Hearts}{2-Clubs}{5-Clubs}. He bubbled the Blaycation packages at RunGood Hard Rock Tulsa when he finished 10th and is looking to lock one up this time around.

Spriggs Sends One Packing

Level 11 : 1,000/2,000, 300 ante

In a multi-way limped pot, a player in early position bet 3,000 on a {7-Hearts}{7-Clubs}{6-Diamonds} flop and Rodney Spriggs made it 7,800 from his immediate left. Everyone else folded, and the bettor called. He then checked the {10-Diamonds} turn and Spriggs put him all in for about 10,000. The player called off with {8-Clubs}{5-Clubs} but was in bad shape against the {k-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds} of Spriggs. The {3-Hearts} river was a blank.

Gaviao Three-Outs One

Level 11 : 1,000/2,000, 300 ante

Jonathan Gaviao was in the big blind and putting a short-stacked opponent at risk preflop who was all in for about 13,000. Gaviao had {a-Diamonds}{8-Spades} but the RunGood Pro managed to find an eight on the flop against {a-Clubs}{j-Spades} and that was good enough to hold on for the win.

"Why Would You Go Back for More?"

Level 10 : 800/1,600, 300 ante
Lou Barlow
Lou Barlow

Mark Eddleman was in the tank when we arrived at his table, facing a bet of 14,000 from Lou Barlow on a completed board of {j-Clubs}{9-Clubs}{4-Clubs}{k-Clubs}{7-Hearts}.

"I was licking my chops when you went to bet 8,000, because I thought I had the best hand," Eddleman said. "But then you reached for more. Why did you go back for more?"

After another minute or two, he tossed in a call.

"Ace of clubs," Barlow said softly, turning up {a-Clubs}{10-Hearts}.

Eddleman said he had a smaller club.

Robbins Eliminated

Level 10 : 800/1,600, 300 ante
Rick Robbins
Rick Robbins

We found Rick Robbins all in for 14,000 in the big blind with {a-Diamonds}{3-Hearts} against small blind Lee Wu's {10-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}. Apparently, Wu had opened and called Robbins' shove.

"I guess we both have two live cards," Robbins observed before {k-Spades}{6-Hearts}{4-Clubs} flopped. "And he just hit his."

Robbins did not find any help on the last two streets and the RunGood Hard Rock Tulsa second-place finisher will have to get through Day 1c if he hopes to repeat his final table appearance.

Big Blind Special for White

Level 9 : 600/1,200, 200 ante
Ted Hinton
Ted Hinton

In a limped pot preflop, Ted Hinton bet 5,000 from the small blind on a {2-Clubs}{2-Diamonds}{5-Spades} flop and Mike White called in the big blind. A player who came in under the gun moved all in for 15,800, and both Hinton and White called. On the {q-Clubs} turn, Hinton put his last 3,700 in and White called.

Hinton: {8-Clubs}{8-Hearts}
White: {9-Clubs}{2-Spades}
Under the gun: {q-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}

White had flopped trips with his napkins and they held on the {a-Clubs} river, shipping him a sizable pot and eliminating two opponents.
