We missed the action unfold, but we do know local player Andy Phan got his chips all in preflop and was in dire straits against Randy Belmont.
Belmont:
Phan:
Phan had some kicker problems, and they didn't get resolved on the flop. The turn paired both players, but Belmont's kicker had him out in front. That said, Phan did pick up a flush draw. The dealer burned one last time and put out the . Phan missed and immediately made his way to the registration desk to reenter.

Shari Elder's Day 1b has come to an end... provided she doesn't opt to reenter. We missed the elimination of the Omaha jeweler, but we learned a few details after the fact.
According to a player at the table, someone had made it 2,300 to go and another player called. Elder, who if you recall finished runner-up in the pot-limit Omaha event on Thursday night, then jammed her last 8,300 holding , and her two opponents called with and respectively. Elder held strong through the flop and turn, but an ace on the river put a dagger through her heart.

Isaac Tucker raised to 1,500 from early position and three-time World Series of Poker Circuit ring winner Stephen Kats called from the button. Both blinds folded and it was heads-up action to the flop, which came down . Tucker continued for 3,000 and Kats promptly released his hand.
It wasn't much of a hand, but it gave us a good excuse to update you on both their counts. As you can see, both players are up since the last time we checked in on them.

We happened upon the action with approximately 18,000 in the pot and a board reading . RunGood Ambassador Jonathan Gaviao, who busted in the last hand of the Day 1a flight late last night, had moved all in for roughly 19,000, and his opponent on the button, who had a stack of 17,000, hit the tank before calling off.
Gaviao tabled the for flopped trips, and it was good as the busted button showed the before taking his leave.

Those were the words we heard from RunGood Ambassador Ross Bybee after he hit the rail.
It happened when action folded to him in middle position and he moved all in for 7,550. Action folded to Patrick Hendrickson on the button, and he put most of his stack at risk to make the call. The blinds both folded and the cards were turned up, but not before Bybee admitted something.
"I only looked at one," he said.
Bybee:
Hendrickson:
Bybee went with his ace, but he was in big trouble as Hendrickson held a better one. The board ran out a clean , and it was bye-bye Bybee.
"See you at seven," Bybee offered. We'll see him again come Day 1c.

We missed the elimination of RunGood Ambassador Bernard Lee, but his former tablemate, Dan Almerli, was kind enough to tell us what happened.
According to him, a short-stacked Lee got his last 5,000 or so all in preflop holding only to run into a hand that had him crushed. Lee failed to get lucky, and his Day 1b run came to an end. We expect he'll give it one more go on Day 1c, which will kick off in just a few hours from now.
