Chris Wicks Wins RunGood Horseshoe Council Bluffs ($33,443)

Level 23 : 15,000/30,000, 5,000 ante
Chris Wicks - 1st Place
Chris Wicks - 1st Place

The RunGood spring "Ignite the Night" series ended with Chris Wicks taking down the $675 Main Event at Horseshoe Council Bluffs. He claimed $31,443 in prize money and a $2,000 World Series of Poker package after topping a field of 209 runners for the first recorded cash of his tournament career.

After three starting flights, just 43 players qualified for Sunday's Day 2, and Wicks was among the leading competitors after bagging 221,500 to lead Day 1c. The bubble burst early on with 21 places paid, and it was RunGood pro Duma Lowery walking away empty-handed in 22nd after losing most of his stack with queens when Mike Fick held kings.

Wicks went into the final table in the middle of the pack, and Jerry Moore was the star of the show at the start of it. He amassed a monstrous stack of 2.1 million, good for half of the chips in play, after he eliminated Mark Fink in eighth in Level 21 (10,000/20,000/3,000).

Four players had seen a {5-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}{4-Hearts} flop, and Wicks bet 70,000. Moore made it 325,000, and Fink was on the button and shoved all in for 626,000. Wicks folded and Moore called, revealing the {5-Diamonds}{5-Spades} for a set. Fink needed a heart as he had the {q-Hearts}{10-Hearts} but the board ran out dead for him.

That's when Wicks went on a rush, winning two huge flips. First, he eliminated Duster Ellis with the {8-Clubs}{8-Hearts}, hitting a set on the river after Ellis outflopped him with the {k-Spades}{q-Spades}. Then, Wicks' tens held up against the {a-Hearts}{q-Diamonds} of Mark Turner, sending him out in sixth.

Moore got the next two knockouts, holding with the {q-Hearts}{q-Diamonds} when Ryan Phan shoved over him with the {a-Spades}{q-Clubs}. Phan has been on quite the run, amassing more than $160,000 in cashes since the start of 2015, including a second-place finish in the Main Event of the WSOP Circuit stop here last month.

Moore then eliminated Issac "Rungood" Tucker with the {k-Diamonds}{j-Clubs} against the {q-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}, and he and Wicks had massive stacks three-handed while Greg Poor was grinding about 10 big blinds. Poor made some headway early but ultimately shoved with the {k-Clubs}{k-Diamonds} only to have Wicks call with the {a-Hearts}{9-Spades} and get there.

Wicks and Moore were about even with around 2 million apiece and blinds of 15,000/30,000/5,000 going to heads-up play. But what looked like it could be a drawn-out match ended quickly, after Wicks took a lead early and then the two saw a {3-Hearts}{8-Clubs}{q-Spades} flop. Moore check-called 105,000, and the turn was a {10-Spades}. Moore checked, Wicks bet 300,000, and Moore shoved for about 1.5 million. Wicks called with the {q-Diamonds}{10-Hearts} and his top two was good against Moore's {q-Clubs}{8-Hearts}. The river was a {7-Clubs}, and Wicks became the latest RunGood champ.

Jerry Moore Eliminated in 2nd Place ($19,730)

Level 23 : 15,000/30,000, 5,000 ante
Jerry Moore - 2nd Place
Jerry Moore - 2nd Place

There was more than 500,000 in the pot on the turn, when both Jerry Moore and Chris Wicks checked a {k-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}{q-Hearts}{q-Spades} board. On the {6-Clubs} river, Wicks bet 200,000 and took down the pot.

The next hand, a {3-Hearts}{8-Clubs}{q-Spades} flop hit the felt, and Moore check-called 105,000. On the {10-Spades} turn, Moore checked again and Wicks bet 300,000. Moore shoved all in for about 1.5 million, and Wicks called.

Wicks: {q-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}
Moore: {q-Clubs}{8-Hearts}

It was a brutal turn for Moore, as his two pair was now way behind, and he called for an eight, but a {7-Clubs} arrived.

Greg Poor Eliminated in 3rd Place ($12,516)

Level 23 : 15,000/30,000, 5,000 ante
Greg Poor - 3rd Place
Greg Poor - 3rd Place

Greg Poor looked at his stack as if considering a raise and decided to shove all in for 600,000 on the button. Chris Wicks called in the small blind.

Poor: {k-Clubs}{k-Diamonds}
Wicks: {a-Hearts}{9-Spades}

Wicks needed an ace, but he found only a nine on the {9-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}{4-Clubs} flop. The {3-Clubs} was a brick but the {a-Clubs} elicited another clap from him, followed by an apology to Poor.

Issac Tucker Eliminated in 4th Place ($9,125)

Level 22 : 12,000/24,000, 4,000 ante
Issac Tucker - 4th Place
Issac Tucker - 4th Place

Issac Tucker pushed all in under the gun for roughly 300,000, and Jerry Moore said he was all in on top of that, driving the big blind out.

Tucker: {q-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}
Moore: {k-Diamonds}{j-Clubs}

Moore had a slight lead, and the {j-Spades}{9-Spades}{4-Spades} flop helped both players since Moore picked up top pair and Tucker had an open-ender with an overcard. The {a-Diamonds} was a blank on the turn, and the {10-Hearts} wasn't enough for Tucker, who was at his second RunGood Main Event final table.

Chris Wicks limped the button, and Jerry Moore raised to 162,000. Ryan Phan looked down at his cards and moved all in from the big after thinking about 30 seconds. Moore called.

Moore: {q-Hearts}{q-Diamonds}
Phan: {a-Spades}{q-Clubs}

Phan said it wasn't to be, and he was right as the board ran out {6-Diamonds}{3-Spades}{9-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}{10-Spades}.

Duster Ellis - 7th Place
Duster Ellis - 7th Place

Duster Ellis pushed all in for approximately 100,000 and was called by Chris Wicks in the small blind.

Ellis: {k-Spades}{q-Spades}
Wicks: {8-Clubs}{8-Hearts}

The flop came {k-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}{6-Spades}, giving Ellis the lead with kings. The {9-Clubs} emerged on the turn to give Wicks a straight draw.

"Of course," someone on the rail said.

On the river, it was an {8-Spades} and Wicks clapped.

Mark Fink - 8th Place

Four players saw a {5-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}{4-Hearts} flop, and the big blind checked. Chris Wicks bet 70,000, and Jerry Moore raised to 325,000 from his immediate left. On the button, Mark Fink thought briefly and then shoved all in for 626,000. Wicks folded, and Moore thought about 20 seconds and announced a call.

Moore: {5-Diamonds}{5-Spades}
Fink: {q-Hearts}{10-Hearts}

Fink had top pair but only his flush draw was drawing live. The {7-Clubs} turn was a brick, and the {j-Diamonds} river likewise, and Moore is now massive chip leader with half of the chips in play.

Jose Montes Eliminated in 10th Place ($2,836)

Level 20 : 8,000/16,000, 2,000 ante
Jose Montes - 10th Place
Jose Montes - 10th Place

Three players saw a {9-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}{a-Clubs} flop for the minimum, and everyone checked. Jose Montes led out 40,000 on the {a-Hearts} out of the small blind, and Ryan Phan called from his left. Montes checked the {a-Diamonds} river, and Phan bet 90,000. Montes went into the tank, apologizing to his opponents after a couple of minutes. He pump-faked a couple of times then ultimately called.

Phan shook his head slightly and showed the {10-Hearts}{6-Clubs}, but it was good.

Montes was left with three big blinds and went bust in a couple of hands.
