Jody Briscoe Finishes on Top of Flight 1C

The final flight of the RunGood Poker Main Event at the Hard Rock Tulsa wrapped up shy of 2 am and advanced 17 players to Sunday. Jody Briscoe edged out Eric Bunch and Justin Gardenhire for the lead after bagging up 257,000.

The total field across three flights was 286 entrants with 58 players returning for Day 2. The first flight drew 82 players with 19 moving on, Saturday's first flight drew 110 entrants with 22 moving on.

Play stalled during Levels 9, 10 and 11 during the final flight. The field hovered in the mid-30s before the final level saw a dozen players hit the rail. But it was nothing compared to the parade of players Jose Montes sent packing during the last level of Day 1B.

The unofficial prize pool comes in at $168,740 - crushing the $100,000 guarantee - and will pay out the top 36 finishers. The official prize pool is to be released before the start of play and we'll post the payouts as soon as we get them.

Cards hit the air at noon Sunday with 58 hopefuls playing for the trophy. Keep right here at PokerNews to follow all the action until we crown a winner.

Local players Ray Henson, Pete Petree, Mike Tang and Greg Jennings all advanced to Day 2 out of the final flight.

We missed the preflop betting action but the short version is that Andre Allen, Ray Henson and Calaeb Roland got all in preflop.

Allen: {A-}{A-}
Henson: {K-Diamonds}{K-Spades}
Roland: {A-Spades}{4-Spades}

The dealer rolled out {J-Spades}{5-Spades}{3-Spades}{4-Hearts}{7-Clubs}, Roland made an ace-high flush, Allen was eliminated and Henson lost some chips.

Gardy the GOAT

Level 4 : 150/300, 25 ante

Matt Bond possibly regretting instigating with Gardenhire.

Justin Gardenhire casually strolled into the tournament room and after a few minutes registered for the flight. He's brought to Matt Bond and Jordan Gaviano's table and seated under the gun.

"I bet you won't make it 600 in the dark," Bond said, who was in the big blind.

Without looking Gardenhire raised to 600, Andre Allen raised to 1,800 behind him and Mike Bond re-popped it to 6,600. Gardenhire moved all in, Allen mucked and Bond called after some short thought.

Gardenhire: {A-Spades}{K-Clubs}
Bond: {A-Hearts}{Q-Diamonds}

The board ran {A-Diamonds}{3-Spades}{3-Hearts}{10-Spades}{7-Diamonds} and Gardenhire doubles up the first hand he his dealt.
