RGPS Tulsa Hard Rock Main Event: Blair Hinkle Leads 61 Players Heading to Day 2, Jacob Seale Bags Final Flight Lead

Level 12 : 1,500/2,500, 2,500 ante

Jacob Seale

Jacob Seale, who just finished runner-up to Nam Phan for $32,428 at the RGPS Kansas City Main Event last weekend, bagged the chip lead with 255,500 on Day 1c of the RGPS Tulsa Hard Rock Main Event.

The final flight drew 111 players and 25 bagged to bring the total field returning for Day 2 to 61. There were a total of 319 entries and Blair Hinkle will lead the way into Day 2 with a whopping 451,000, after bagging a massive lead in Day 1b earlier in the day.

Clint Tolbert fell at the hands of Seale when Tolbert shoved a turned two pair into Seale, who called to hit trip tens on the river and eliminate Tolbert. Julie Cornelius sat on a short stack most of the day, but managed to find a bag and will start Day 2 with 39,000.

Mason Hinke (66,500) will join his brothers Grant (139,500) and Blair in Day 2 as well.

Day 2 will restart Sunday at noon with 61 players returning. The official prize pool has not been announced yet, but will be before the start of play. The PokerNews Live Reporting Team will be on hand to capture all the action, so be sure to join us then to see who walks away with the last title of the "Showbound" Season.

RGPS Tulsa Hard Rock Main Event Profile: Halsten Kelso and a Poker Dream

Level 3 : 100/200, 200 ante
Halsten Kelso
Halsten Kelso

Halsten Kelso just won his seat to Day 1C in a satellite. During the satellite, he was sitting across from Sean McCormack who is the Director of Poker Operations at Aria.

During the tournament, McCormack video-called WSOP Main Event Champion Chris Moneymaker and passed the phone to a fan so he could say hello to the champ. Moneymaker chatted for a few and then McCormack asked if he should call Daniel.

"Negreanu?" asked Kelso, "if you call him I will fold every hand to you from now on."

McCormack video-called Negreanu and handed the phone to Kelso.

"There are three people in my life I would want to talk to and two of them are dead," said Kelso. "The other is Daniel. That thirty seconds made my year and it's only May."

Kelso works for a natural gas and pipeline company after spending some time taking a shot at being a professional poker player.

"I got to try the dream," he said.

Now he is playing when he can. He won his seat in the satellite and is now playing for a shot at the final table and the Showbound satellite seat. Who knows, maybe he will end up at the same table with Negreanu.

Two RGPS Tulsa Hard Rock Main Event Flights Today, Day 1B Starts at Noon

RGPS Showbound
RGPS Showbound

The Run Good Poker Series Main Event at Tulsa Hard Rock continues today with the last two of three starting flights. The first flight starts at noon.

Day 1A drew 82 entries and, while that may have had something to do with poor weather, Saturday's flights are expected to be bigger. This is a $675 buyin Main Event with $100,000 guarantee. Players will start with 20,000 chips and have 12 30-minute levels before bagging for Day 2, which will start Sunday at noon.

The final ten players in this event will be the last players entered into the Showbound satellite. The Showbound satellite will give two players a $5,000 sit-n-go seat on Poker After Dark. The seat includes travel and hotel accommodation. The Showbound satellite will be Monday at noon.
